There's so often extra travel in the shifters such that they hit the edge of the opening. It must be wear or adjustment in some locations. However, it does seem logical that lowering it will make it hit more and raising it a small amount would stop it hitting. Simple logic or maybe geometry.

This is the one thing that I hated the most. The circular shape of the Shifter assembly does not fit in the sw20, I would say it looks out of place like a logitech toy and the original one looks much much better.

You should also consider replacing the steering wheel to like the one on he Celica GT or a Supra TT. They look so dope compared to the OEM

Yes, they're awesome cars but you can't drive them like a regular rwd car and it takes a good driver to drive one well. They're decently priced for what you get, and unfortunately they're going up in price. Depends what other cars you are thinking of and if you have to daily it or not.

You should try to get a turbo engine lid with the raised vents. I've ordered a twin heat extractor fan shroud for mine and installed these side scoops-mr2-ben.co.uk/products/1392.
