Old Scout MORA Knife Restoration

Old Swedish MORA knife restoration. I found this old rusty scout knife and decided to restore it. I like MORA Swedish knives. I removed the rust, polished the blade and restored the handle of the knife. I liked the result. I hope you liked my restoration.

На лаковом покрытии много кратеров/каверн. Лак можно было бы зашкурить нулёвкой и нанести следующий слой. И так повторить несколько раз.

Incredible blade restoration - sadly you treated the handle with varnish instead of boiled linseed oil, but that may be just personal preference. Take it out, it will serve you well.

Used to have one exactly like this, got it some 40 years ago in the village of Vemdalen (see the writing on the sheath) in Sweden as a souvenir.

Nice job my only small recommendation would’ve been to do more to the sheath I’ve seen leather tools where the people carve out a thin line around the edge or border of the sheath and for something kind of beat up like that you probably should’ve done something like that

White goo is a product for leather. It softens old leather.

Why? Frost was a cheap knock off of the Mora design that didn’t use Mora steel. Would never take a good edge or hold it for long. Slick shinny handle finish is okay for a wall hanger but not a working knife. A “real” Mora wood handle is less than $30 so doesn’t seem to make sense.
