Looks like a lovely day for a walk ☀️ even if it was cold ❄️ We have had nothing but rain ☔ since Christmas 🎄 here in England 😂

It was, and I'll take the cold if we just get some sunshine with it :)

I did this hike back in 2019. I told everyone that due to the incline it took two hours to get to the river, and 20 minutes to get back to the car.

Thank you for the reminder not to walk up to the Springs. I'll be visiting in June, and I'm surprised there are tours for traveling over some of the glaciers.

Oh yeah, you can definitely go over the glaciers on snowmobiles, hiking, etc. I'd consider that different as that is traveling on the snowy surface, which will replenish itself every winter :) I hope you have a wonderful stay!

Beautiful scenery - but what happened to the dog?

I actually drove past that farmhouse when making an attempt on the mountain that morning and stopped for a moment, half hoping he'd come out to greet me 😉

@@ivargu Well, what needs you of a pooch when you have all of us to travel with? :-)

The ignorance runs deep in too many people. And worse of all, in people who have the money to go and be stupid in places that need absolute care. We don’t deserve the beauties that we have. You behaved very well, Ívar. I’d have been yelling at them. My grandma always said “better once red (your face) than a hundred times yellow”.

Nice tour and sorry about the ---- tourists! My middle name is Ivar, so I figured I had to subscribe :-)

Hey welcome "nafni" (a term we have for our namesake). The tourists are great, and add a wonderful diversity to the culture here. It's just the indiduals (visitors or natives) that don't respect their surroundings that are the challenge :)

@@ivargu Takk fyrir "nafni".. My father's father was born near Akureyri. I have a second cousin who is not so fond of what he thinks are tooooo many tourists in Iceland! My birthday is 5 January.

Looks like about 12 people in the water. You could have joined and made it a baker's dozen.
