Music transcends language. I speak not one word of the language but I love this song, been loving it since I heard it on Radio6 a few years ago and stuggled to Google the band! Evident lyrical skills, creativity that's off the hook, beats that get under your skin. Visually delighful video is a bonus gift! Don't know how the Daughters do it, all they songs are like hypnotism. UK tour when the plague is over please!

That verse starting from 00:47 is my fav cause even tho I don't understand any Icelandic, it has some DOPE internal rhyme in it with all the words ending in "-eyja" 👌
@МаксимШатохин-н7ы4 жыл бұрын
JÁÁÁ, TÍK. Not to complain, but it feels that Icelandic verbs were invented for such rhymes, because every (or almost every) verb ends in a vovel "a", for example: vera, fara, stoppa, segja, deyja, kunna and etc. These verbs' endings make it possible to create such melodic and beautifully sounding lines. In Russian we have only 3 endings for verbs, such as ть(t'), ти(t'ee) and чь(ch'), so I don't believe that with these verbs' ending we could create something (I mean in terms of verbs, of course we a lot of great song with even deeper meaning and impressive rhymes). And what's for ти(t'ee), it obviously ends in a vowel, however we have really a little amount of nice and common verbs with this ending. I would even say, that it's rather an exception, than a rule. Like, right now I can only remember a few such verbs, as везти(vezti - carry on car), нести(n'esti - carry), мести(m'esti - sweep), плести(pl'esti - weave), пасти(past'ee - pasture). Well, this are very specific and uncommon words, so yeah. I hope that I did not bother you, good luck😚😚

Translation: Yo Chessy J Here to alter your world you feel the insecurity flow through your bones not a virgin or scared of sticks and bones I’m the thing that you would take with you on a desert island but hey, I am Bleachy P not gonna let you forget to complain about politics that can effect the whole country in a ditch very fun for the gods in their happy crisis but though I can’t remember there’s a fire inside of me because of the stupidity Still, I know how to rap and make people happy so let’s listen to another women who knows more than any other girl Crazy what you think of saying to me when I’m the kind of girl that would rather die than shut up and wants to scream at the boys that want more from me. And do you want to know whether I’m going to make an afford for you sweat and heat under your roof and a full moon? Have they ruined everything with games? party french kisses and hot boys that who want to meet silicon girls and orange tank top clans. So I walked up to him fast and smiled, lid a cigarette and gave him two choices: You have to give me another cigarette or learn how to hit on a girl. Shivers through my body bathing in white spotlight In the cosmos we have written a path and though time goes by I can’t go back Words suddenly mean something energy that reminds me of a bomb the revolution keeps on making history and I know that I can never go back Over me Is intoxicating sweat throwing up in the bathroom just before dinnertime fifteen minutes till I have to kill the rhymes of the past in an nightmare mindset, and thinking of the future. Because I’m the image of insecurity with a bad breath and can hear how terribly my voice sounds Screamed in my head, I’m called up on stage realise that I can’t be insecure so I ask and hope and try to understand that maybe somebody likes a rapper like me until I catch my breath and see forward that nobody could like a little shit like me on stage: my hearth is burning, I need to be skinnier, I must not be the worst performer tonight, please don’t fall, please don’t make a silly face, feel the hairs on my back stand up, the noise wants to peel my skin of and wash me with blood, I fall over the toilet and get a bruise. But then I remember I am little red ridinghood Bleachy P I play like a cassette feel the rhymes burst out of me find me to be all set remember that I am a Rappette Then I use my party rhymes hope that I never do anything else this is where I’m supposed to be, I’m my best self when I’m in the darkness and I don’t want to go home cause this is my game so you should just listen Shivers through my body bathing in white spotlight In the cosmos we have written a path and though time goes by I can’t go back Words suddenly mean something energy that reminds me of a bomb the revolution keeps on making history and I know that I can never go back Ah, like an execution a womens life in my mind hot kisses, breasts playing with objectification and how to fake so I can’t stand sitting any longer wait and pray for a revolution break down all the ideas, get a headache not free from worries about obsessions that catch you cold saying: “Yes she deserved it she was supposed to be fucked she said she wanted it two nights ago” because that’s what we think so we stand still, can’t move forward but wait for changes that can’t be without a lot of willpower so I point out facts because there are named rapists all around the world shitting over womens insides and where are they in the world? well, at least not in prison so let’s stand up don’t cave in the rap revolution has begun don’t give up because inequality is not a work of art for politicians to hang up on their wall no, we know better own the word the power let’s overcome this winter True, so try your best to be the revolution and win this depression

icelandic people are super musical ..i'm pretty sure that literally every person in iceland is in a band of some sort .. i could be exaggerating a little , but its got to be that per capita it is the most musical place on earth .. i wonder why that is ?
@davidfriend19195 жыл бұрын
ok , maybe it is because being so cold and isolated of a place they have learned how to entertain themselves .. or maybe they just have very creative minds , like there culture promotes a lot of expression in the way they are raised .. those would be the most obvious nature vs. nurture answers anyway ..
