I really enjoyed watching this.Apart from glaive opener , its all just great macro play by Stats with the standard true and tested Protoss units. I missed that. No more of sneaky tricky plays, just great macro and leveraging the Protoss power.

Watching stats is usually amazing, but the constant 1.5k+ floating minerals in game 2 really bugged me. Just build a few more gates/production - there was plenty of time in-between fights to do that and rebuild a bigger army. It seems odd for a Code S player to miss such fundamentals.

protoss players usually lack basic skills in comparison to players of similar mmr in the otehr races as the natural power of their units negates quantityb of units, so they can be poor macro players but still win fights. zest is the same, terrible macro, but the amove carries him through

Raynor was ahead mid-game but couldn't kill Stats with 3 bases protoss. After that, Raynor played mass lings banes, Stats realized and went pure archons chargelots (no immortals). All of Raynor's mid-game advantage was gone in late game and he was drained to die.

Reynor is really only strong against Serral. Because of Zerg dominance last year, Reynor practiced mainly against Zergs, specifically against Serral. He may have impressive win rate against Serral but he loses alot against top players from other race. After the balance patches, he has much to catch up especially against other races.

Wardi I think you are aware of the results of these games before you cast them, and that is influencing your commentary. I wouldn't care, except that I think it makes it obvious at times who is going to win a game.Like in the second game, Reynor was actually in a good spot, but you seemed to be very down on his chances, and sure enough he made mistakes and threw a good spot.

I think it's probably just my lack of belief in calling ZvP positions. I've seen Zergs in this spot a lot where it's like yeah I think this is good, but what's the actual killing blow? Idk I just watched it back skipping through and I was indeed a bit negative about his position - I didn't know the result of this at all though, it was a series recommended to me by the people that ran the tournament. I just knew it was a long ZvP :D

@@WardiTV maybe you are just better at reading the game than I am, which isn't that surprising as I am D2 Terran so hardly a specialist! I think it's useful in casts during a lull in action to recap advantages like workers, map vision, tech , upgrades etc. I see a lot of casters like T&A end up focussing on a certain aspect like an early game mistake by a player that actually isn't that impactful as game goes on, Cure v Innovation was like that where they had him written off on maps he won. Keep up the good work, thanks for the content

Nope, its just Stats playing better in the early game to get so far ahead for storms to be available before banelings. In a normal game, there would be mass banes before storms are ready and would very deadly against protoss. By the time protoss gets storm, Zerg would have already transitioned into late game. This is why in the latest patch banelings were nerf.

I suppose you missed out on the blink micro, prism micro, forcefields, splitting from banelings and defending against ling runbys while all that is happening, but oh well zergs like you can't appreciate any of these intricacies with your ling bane a-moving and bile spamming
