ReZero Season 3 Op & Ed Reaction

This is my favorite Isekai. I like how the MC’s signature track suit is a visual representation that he’s not from this world. Very relatable character with one huge exception. He has a certain attribute that makes the storyline so interesting. A solid, well executed anime that’s suitable for reaction content.

Season 1 really introduces you to the concept, season 2 builds on the characters and what’s at stake and season 3 pushes the story forward and really shows how dark this show can get. Honestly a must watch at some point. No rush though because it’s far from ending.

Season 3 has been something else so far - a brilliant adaptation of one of the series' best story arcs. And as brutal as S1 and S2 were for the characters involved... somehow they've managed to up the brutality in S3.

I'm currently reading the light novel for Re:zero, and honestly it's one of the if not the best thing I've ever read. I know what will happen in season 3 entirely, and I know it will be the best season of Re:zero so far. Currently 8 episodes of season 3 has come out, but it's currently on a break till February next year, when the rest 8 episodes of the first part of season 3 will come out. After that starts the second part of season 3 that will be way longer and especially better than the first part.

Rezero is my 2nd favorite anime, and I've been watching anime for over 14 years of my life. Even if it isn't your top, it's a spectacle of a show and is worth experiencing.

Re:Zero goes deep with it's characters and themes, just in a different manner than popular series like Vinland or Vagabond. Just like how the protagonist is a perfection of the everyman trope, the story itself is a perfection of everyman themes and struggles that everyone can relate to and empathize with.

@@anusaukko6792 Oh yeah, for sure. I love watching breakdowns of Re:Zero characters. I just personally find stuff like Vinland Saga more deep in the way that matters more to me personally. Vinland Saga literally changed my life and how I view certain things. I don't think there's ever gonna be another show like that for me. Again, don't mean to say that Re:Zero can't be like that for someone or isn't deep, I just think Vinland Saga has more things to teach that you don't really see in shonen type anime too often.

(it's cut off so don't worry) don't worry, it's just a dialogue of what happened when Subaru made other decisions and not the ones we see in the anime: ************ That first hell that Subaru's fingers touched, was what brought him here. He is just one step away from achieving his long-awaited wish. He created victims, sacrifices, everything to get here. “…Even so…” “Don't go any further” A voice descends, vicious, from above. “The fire engulfs the capital” That is not a figurative statement. The face that looks down from the hill, seems to be filled with immense fury, which is dazzling. “Reinhard, Van, Astreaaaaaaaaaaa” “It seems that I do not need to introduce myself. There is not much to say anyway.” Reinhard's blue eyes pierced a kneeling Subaru. His gaze was very different from the one Subaru remembered, it was filled with emotions. That gaze that had remained calm in front of a butcher, towards Subaru... reflected an extremely intense emotion... it was a gaze of hatred. "So if you are capable of feeling hatred for people, Sword Saint." "I am also surprised. I did not think that such feelings were harbored in me." "So you have found the new you. Subaru can say whatever insults he wants, but someone like Reinhard won't be affected. Knowing that he has been hit with a death sentence by someone of Reinhard's caliber brings a smile to Subaru's face. It destroyed that imperturbable face and brought out the emotions buried there. Subaru knows that everything is useless now, so he can only boast about that victory. “Don't make me laugh Reinhard. Sword Saint? Swordsman of the kingdom? You are a Knight who protects the kingdom of Lugnica right? Did you protect the kingdom? What do you say about that…” “..” Subaru shouted, opening his arms and spitting. The two of them stood face to face at the palace gates. Everything that was visible in the capital… was being engulfed by the flames, and not just the capital. The hell was raging throughout the entire territory of the kingdom of Lugunica. It didn't matter how strong Reinhard was, how great he was as a Knight… What could he do on his own? He can’t do anything anymore. That was what Subaru concluded. “This is a gift for you. A trap I set to kill you.” “To kill myself?” “Do you know how many times, how many times I’ve tried to kill you? How many times have I faced you? How many hundreds, thousands of times have I faced you?” “…” Subaru’s strange chatter only confused Reinhard. He couldn’t understand it. No one but Subaru would understand it. Subaru had already gone through every conceivable way of trial and error to kill Reinhard. He studied Reinhard van Astrea, researched him exhaustively, tried every idea he had, filled himself with plans, searched for every clue he could think of that would help him kill Reinhard. But no matter what methods he used, Reinhard outdid them. Subaru sacrificed Elsa, he sacrificed Mei Lee, he sacrificed Blue, he sacrificed that guy who could have been his friend, he sacrificed that clown who claimed to be his partner, he sacrificed the cult, he sacrificed the Archbishops, he committed crimes and injustices that were unthinkable, and yet he still failed to kill Reinhard. So, with no way to defeat Reinhard, Subaru decided. “I’m killing you as a Knight. Smearing your name, stepping on it, spitting on it.” “All this…just for that?” “Just for that! Yes, I did! Just for that! Just for that I used everyone’s lives to drag you to the ground!” Subaru put Mei Lee’s body on the ground. He pointed his finger at Reinhard, who couldn’t hide his annoyance. It felt so good. “You are a hero Reinhard. It is impossible for me to kill you. But I can kill a hero. This is how I will kill you.” Subaru boasts, in his deranged voice, to the silent Reinhard. He worked so hard, made many plans, killed many people, shed much blood, and finally… With Mei Lee having protected him and allowed him to survive, Subaru has finally been able to face Reinhard like this. Finally, after piling up many sacrifices, Subaru found himself on the same stage as Reinhard. “… Why?” The hot breeze drives something inside Subaru. His voice sounds fragile when he speaks. “Why are you so strong? Why are you so strong, that I had to let them die to face you?” With a trembling voice, he begins to sob. This causes Reinhard’s face to harden. He hasn’t the slightest idea what Subaru is thinking. But that much is obvious, not even Subaru knows at that moment. He doesn't know why he's crying. When was the last time he shed tears? Maybe that day, when he first came to this world, was the last. “I wish I could have been like you. Honestly, I wish I could have been like you, to be strong enough to save everyone. I think you're enviable. I think you're despicable.” “You…” With those tears came Subaru's true feelings. Back in his first Loop, Subaru witnessed a man who freed him from the endless circle of death. Back then, Subaru was jealous of Reinhard. Disemboweled so many times, suffered so many deaths, yet he was unable to change anything. Subaru's heart was slowly crumbling, his skin was torn, but then by coincidence, as if kicking a small stone in the road, he was able to change that fate. Subaru aspired to have that strength, he envied him, he belittled him, he hated him. “I wanted to be you, Reinhard.” “I don’t understand.” Reinhard dismissed Subaru’s honesty as worthless. You are right. Reinhard, you are a hero, you are always right. Where did the mistake occur? At what point did Natsuki Subaru go wrong? He doesn’t know. Although in reality, he does. But no one would be able to understand it. What is the why? What is the why exactly? Natsuki Subaru has been, for a long time now, a madman who cannot be sympathized with. “…”
