You can certainly grind the tops of TO3 transistors and see the fabrication style of the wafer. Transistors such as the 2N3055 were built in different ways by different manufacturers.

I got lucky and guessed right, The one with the x looks like it has more corrosion on it. Also the second set the one on the right is more worn and looks used and not new.

Say What???? If your asking that, then you didn't understand the video. In a nut shell, there's NOTHING that ANYONE could ever tell you about a transistor by popping the top off of it and looking at the inside. And Anyone Who Tries To Tell You ANYTHING About A Transistor After Looking At It's Insides Is Just Playing You For A Complete Idiot And Fool. So At The Point You Start To Believe Them, You Might As Well Bend Over And Grab Your Cheeks, Because They're Putting It Into You Where The Sun Don't Shine.... The ONLY Way You Can Tell ANYTHING About A Transistor Is With Meters, And Even Then, You STILL Don't Know Anything About The Grow Process.........
