I have been a student of health since I was in college in the 1980s. Our countries health has been in a downward spiral since. I am a Boston liberal environmental health activist who has voted democratic since 1980. I did not vote for Trump.

anecdotally, almost all my family members that struggle with health and obesity issues don't know how to diet or exercise. Their obesity reinforces their reluctance to exercise because exercising and moving around becomes more and more difficult the more they engage in unhealthy lifestyle decisions. People need to get outside and start moving around and shrink their portion sizes and start eating healthier and stop making excuses for themselves and think anti-science individuals are going to make their lives better and healthier. Not putting the entire blame on the individual because food is addictive, particularly fast food and processed food, but I know more people that lie to themselves to justify their lifestyle and continue consuming terrible foods because they have no control over their addictions

Part of my college education was to examine the research and critique it. I continue to review studies, particularly health related. Science is rarely black and white, it is more of a process discover and continual testing. Competent, well intentioned researchers can agree and disagree about the results of studies. A friend of mine who is an MD who voted for Harris, said that he is skeptical of research because of built in bias and other factors including fraud. I am a liberal who did not vote for Trump who has been a health advocate for decades.

Is this a conflict of interest? Historically, there have been revolving doors of personnel between the public and private sector, which creates at least the appearance of conflict of interest. Gottlieb was an investor in health care and technology prior the FDA.

chicken, rice, eggs, water, spinach, bell peppers, squash, zucchini, oatmeal, apples, ground turkey, fish, onions, dutch potatoes, sweet peppers, sweet potatoes. Not that hard to put together a balanced and sustainable diet using these ingredients. Buy the large plain oatmeal containers. Buy rice in bulk, only drink water, exercise and stretch. Pizza, frozen foods, fast food, sodas and sugar-packed foods are not healthy. Wash your vegetables. People are just unable to make the sacrifices needed to live a healthier lifestyle and blame whatever they can to not take responsibility for their own health. Or use medications and medical conditions as a reason to justify poor lifestyle choices. It's really not that difficult
