From NZ, have had on my shopping list, the Firefly, to add to my collection of British Amour,Europe 1944 > and have just brought it. Trolled the computer and found several video clips of this model and the various interpretations - I would commend you on your 12 minute, detailed, comprehensive look at kit construction plan, sprues etc, a lot better than 45 minutes on "boring". This model company is producing some interesting kit sets, and if they keep it up, will become a market force in this domain.

Nice review! 👍👍 Just recieved this one in the mail today all the way from BNA Modelworld in Australia. Couldn't find anyone here in the U.S. that carried it, and an interesting thing while searching that one I was able to purchase the Meng M4A3E2 Jumbo (beautiful kit!). But I digress, Upon getting this kit, I compared it with my Asuka VC Firefly, and there are similarities. The Asuka kit is wonderful Sherman kit in itself! The Rye Field kit has some outstanding details, that are quite pronounced, such as the rivets on the pressed spoke roadwheels, a feature you have to add to the Asuka kit's. Foundry Mark's, steel texture, awesome M2 .50 cal., and a slide molded 17 pounder barrel, no need for aftermarket barrel! Cant wait to dive into this kit. I have the Rye Field M4A3E8, as well and the quality and build was a pleasure. Even the tracks were pretty easy once you figured it out and got going!😃

With jig the tracks are easy,i used CA rather than Cement to glue them. Ryefield have an M4 'HVSS' 76mm. with interior coming,this kit has detail's that look like an interior is planned for the older hull as well.Upset Asuka fans to distraction.

Thanks for your excellent review. I really enjoyed building this kit and your advice on how to join tracks was great.Would love to know what clippers you use as I had trouble inserting my spruce cutter when separating the pins from the track jig (and even more so with Rye Field’s Panzer III which I’m currently tackling).

Spent 4 hours making those tracks just to have them break and there was no spares :C model lools amazing when built but dont bother with the moving tracks it is fragile and will break if you move it, best bit of advise is use a tiny dab of super glue when puttig the tracks together and dont use the normal glue as it wont be enough and it will break like mine

Bummer, no interior. Their Tiger Mk1 has full interior. NUTZ! Scratch one Firefly. Does have decent instructions, looks decent, but. Thanks for the review though.

Good Morning Bob,Ryefield have an M4,HVSS 76'w' with interior on way.I have built both thier Panther 'interior' kits,and am finishing thier MRAP kit.They are very good and well engineered.And the 'Firefly' kit has a few parts that look like an interior for the older hull maybe in pipeline too.Lot of crossover among interior parts may tip the scales.Fingers crossed.

@@darronhedges5873 I'm actually a prop guy myself, P-47's Fw-190's,109's, whatever the 47 flew against any Theater of Operation. But I did see a pic of a 47 down in a ditch with a couple of Fireflies rolling up. That's why I was interested. I have purchased a few Takom tanks, King, Panther, and Jagdpanther because the 47 destroyed many of them. Ryefield TigerI for the same reason. Thanks for the intel though, much appreciated
