If you look at the number of casualties and divide by the number of vehicles destroyed (or easier to use all equipment destroyed) you will see the ration was way under 10:1 (10 casualties to 1 vehicle), earlier in the war but has blown out to much more than 10: 1 now. This shows that there are many more casualties per vehicle lost now = a shortage of vehicles. Why else would the orcs use motorbikes, golf carts and bekhanka(loaf) vans ON THE BATTLE FIELD DUH

Your observation is correct. But we shouldn't conclude only that the Russians are sh*t at fighting, but rather that these are the kinds of numbers and losses you can expect if you get into a near-peer full-scaled conventional combat. Ukraine also lost a lot of tanks in the failed summer counter-offensive of 2023. If Norway went on a massive combined arms offensive, it could lose 50 tanks in one day too. It's not only that Russians are sh*t, but also that war is hell, and anyone will pay a cost in steel and blood if they attack well-prepared defensive positions. So, it's a statement on the success of Norway's strategy and geopolitics that they DON'T HAVE TO.

The fact that they managed to creep closer to Malaya Loknya again is worrying though. Putin will see the advance as a big win regardless of how many soliders and bmp's he lost. Just hope the defenders can hold them off long enough for the offensive capability to deteriorate completely. This doesn't seem to happen.

This is standard practice for Ukraine. They do strategic retreats, which enable them to reduce their own casualties, while Russia only charges forward with everything they have. Once Russian lines are weak, Ukraine goes back on the offensive, and easily breaks through the skeleton crew that is left. The only thing that seems to stop them is ammo shortages, which is admittedly a problem, and the west needs to step up to help. The much larger Russian army is getting ammo from China, Iran, N. Korea, so Putin can't be mad about it. This same pattern has been going on the entire war. The Russian propaganda cheers about the territory gains, sometimes for the same area half a dozen times. They say nothing of the casualties, which are nothing short of astonishing. Russia is giving up her next generation of men to a madman. It is amazing that even with the full might of the Russian army, and help from African nations, Chechens, and N. Koreans, the Russians are still losing. Their losses are not sustainable, regardless of territory gains.

Well this certainly is something to be weary of, but this also shows they put pressure on him and these kinds of lost equipment as well as his attempt to throw them out of the area means Ukraine can shave away faster on Russian equipment and manpower as it is more concentrated and thoughtlessly thrown against them in an increasingly more predictable manner. I would say this is the calculations of war and tactics?

The thing to remember here is that UA isn't trying to take over RU, or even Kursk Oblast. They're there for the lols, and to bind up RU forces, which they've succeeded with in spectacular fashion. I'm not saying they could do more to repel the RU armed forces even if they wanted to, but the casualty ratio has been severely lopsided since day 1, and the old Soviet metal yards are dwindling almost as fast as the RU national wealth fund.

The Ukrainian Kursk salient is still achieving all it's strategic and operational goals by binding a massive amount of Russian effort and making the Russians waste important resources in men, materiel, and supplies. Tactical losses in ground that wasn't Ukrainian in the first place are small change compared to having achieved those goals.

Not sure that gradually losing ground anywhere on a front line is a way to win a war. Maybe you can explain your reasoning a bit more clearly. Russia has enormous human and technical resources, so Ukraine will need a fairy godmother to have any chance of winning this conflict. That is, unless Putin's regime is toppled from within Russia itself. I'm pro Ukraine, but I have to say it's gradually looking worse and worse from a Ukrainian perspective.

The land they are losing is just empty farm land. They are doing to Russia what Russia did to the Germans. They fall back slowly and continue to bleed the attackers and will until the Orcs finally just break. When they do, Russia will just go home leaving the land to Ukraine again. This is what happened to Russia in 1917 and the Germans in 1918. Russia also held all of Afghanistan until they broke there. It’s one thing to hold it. It’s another altogether to keep it
