@@mleite1people dont realize how high is James Labrie style of singing even Dio or Dickinson don't go that high. John Arch from Fates Warning still can sing but he didnt have the number of live stage that dream thearer has and he stop he career 30 years before his return

In my opinion this is the most difficult DT song to sing. Everyone talks about the F# in Learning to Live, which, difficult as it is, is a single note. You either hit it or you don't. But this song is a roller coaster of scales spanning almost 2 full octaves. As great as the song is, it should have been retired from live shows long before 2017.
@ScarSonic972 жыл бұрын
The scale climb though is just as hard as hitting the actual F# note imo. I generally agree though. This song is definitely in their top 5 of difficulty for a vocalist
@Cotramjoxxx Жыл бұрын
I agree with the F# note point, anyway I think "The Killing Hand" (Live at the Marquee) is his most difficult song in vocals.
@branlopgar Жыл бұрын
The thing is, the song and specially the guitar solo are a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Not a chance in hell they're retiring either Under A Glass Moon or Metropolis Pt. 1 anytime soon, even when they're clearly songs that LaBrie can only nail on a particularly good night. Plus, the dude is almost 60. If his vocal injury in 1995 didn't screw his voice over, age would have done the job anyway.

damn, imagine if they kept the song in the same octave. James would've passed out

Maybe because this song from 1992 was very high. I remember a live video recording of bon Jovi, he sings the way like labrie is singing now, cannot reach the high notes even if they transposed it a bit lower than the original. It triggers cringe but hearing them sound like a distressed cat makes me cry... We can understand that the human voice can't stay as good as the way insruments sound especially when the singer is getting Old.

Nah dude, I'm going to have to disagree. He may not be as good as he used to be, but he loves what he does. When I'm old (I'm 14 right now), I know I won't be as good as I once was, but I'm gonna keep playing, even if I'm not as good as I used to have been. Another example, Lars Ulrich. Yes, he does kind of suck, but he loves to drum and he's still doing it.
