Yes the original 4 silver A4s pulled special alluminiumcoaches. These coache shared 3 bogies between 2 coaches and so were articulated. If my memory is right there was a beaver tailed obsovation coach as the last coach.

If I recall correctly from my childhood, there was an A4 on a small heritage line somewhere in scotland the we visited that used to pull a Beaver tail coach. It was 45 - 50 years ago though but before my memory went totally to mush. It's just a small memory that I have. The loco MAY have been the Union of South Africa.

GnR, there are silver and grey LNER 3x coaches as set A and B in coach packs. Now, these do attract premium prices for a mint set. My own sets have fine scratch lines along the sides, probably due to rubbing against other coaches or scenic items. It actually took me a few years to get them in a condition that I was content with. Though Hornbys new LNER coaches will look very well with your Silver Fox, though expect each coach will be very expensive, I would say going by their current prices. You can run them with the teak coaches that you have. Incidentally, Grace, the Silver Fox, is also available via Hornby in the lined BR Green livery with the silver fox motif creast plates printed (etchings also available) on the sides, too. As I have both of them myself. It was this A4 that started my fascination for these locos and their stream lined look. I currently own around 20x A4s , including the Hush-Hush variants. If you still have my email along with username, etc, could you send me your home address to post a package to you.

The Silver Jubilee carriages are available in 4mm as a kit from Wizard Models (catalogue no. LNESJ38) but there may be no ready-to-run versions available. The beaver-tail observation cars were designed for the "Coronation" sets which were two-tone blue. The Coronation trains are being marketed by Hornby (catalogue Nos. R40223-40227) and would suit a garter blue A4 perfectly.
