Thank you for the adaptation! I will be trying this out on my MBL hair tonight.

I know this video was made a long time ago, but I gotta say thank you so much! I am someone who has only recently become interested in learning how to do more hairstyles than a ponytail and a messy bun with hair ties. I have wanted to learn how to do pinless buns, but unfortunately most tutorials were better suited for people with much longer hair than mine, which is apl. It took me a bunch of tries, but I finally managed to do it. Thanks again for the clarity in your video!

Very beautiful, but this isn't a nautilus but a kind of Nuvi Bun instead, because the loop doesn't go all over the wrapped base but just to one side. But you insert the stick and take it out inside the same loop. That kind of stick use is differing from the Nuvi Bun. In the Nuvi Bun you just insert the stick from 1.00 o'clock, that means from the right end of the loop and it leaves the bun on the other side the diagonal way - not inside the loop anymore but from the base wrapping. Using the stick like this you could make the loop even smaller and then you have more hair for wrapping it around the base. If you can do the original Nautilus, like user Missanthrope has described it ... I don't know.

This bun is my go to lately for my fine, similar length hair and hair stick! Thank you so much for sharing this! :)

Thanks for this video! I've been watching torrinpaige for years, but don't have hair long enough to do the nautilus either. This is extremely helpful! Thank you!

Perfect! And it holds great! Ficari hair clip, love them, is also good!

Thank you so much! I have watched all of Torrin"s videos and had so much trouble with Nautilus that I just gave up. I'll give your way a go for sure.

I have similar length and thickness hair to you, and I can do a modified version of the nautilus bun, but without hair sticks or clips. Bit hard to explain but what you do is, when you take the hair in your dominant hand (I use two fingers like you do), and instead of wrapping the end of the hair around the twist thereby forming the "base" to put the loop over, you do ANOTHER twist, and keep going, until you've taken up all of the hair, and THEN bring the loop over the base of the twist. It's basically the same bun, but created in a slightly different way, one that is more suited to shorter/thinner hair. I would do a video but I don't do videos! Hope that helps.

Hi, your version isn't a modified version of a Nautilus Bun but the original one just like it should be. 👍 And I already thought, nobody would ever care or know here.

Thank you so much for posting your version of this bun! I also have APL hair and have been struggling to do the nautilus. I've been experimenting and although I am able to get it up, it never looks as nice as Torrin's. Your version looks beautiful!!! ❤️ I'll have to try it out right away

I enjoyed you video. I also have this length hair. I would love to see more bun and style videos. My usual go to bun now is the Pha bun, I will try this one today. Thanks for the tutorial.

Thanks pharmgirl, I'm pleased you enjoyed it. I've been trying to perfect a few more buns, like the one JJJ suggested, but so far mine looks more like a blob than a pretzel. I'll try another hair tutorial soon.

Nice tutorial for shorter hair! It looks great! I have a bunch of bun tutorials that might work for you, they are pretty basic. Nice idea to use fingers instead of your hand. Can you try my pretzel bun using fingers and claw clips or your beak/ficcare clip? I am curious to see if you can do it with APL hair :) YES Torrin's channel is also a favorite of mine too. Thanks for this demo...hope you make more! Keep growing! JJJ

Darn it, my hair is long enough for this (I think), but it's too thick! I'll have to wait until it gets a bit longer than APL/BSL.

Hi, with your hair length (Is it still this length?) you can do a self-holding Nautilus bun with two strands. Here the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/joOwfZ1pac-Sbtk

Nice tutorial! But i think i will manage to do this only at BSL... :(.... Edit: I am allmost at BSL. Still can't do it. Sad.
