You should try wrapping animals in hessian when burying. Plastic hinders the decomposition process, hessian would help keep all the bones together while allowing more access for decomposers.

Ahh that's such a good idea! I'll definitely try that. Thanks for the suggestion 😊 I haven't had any problems with plastic halting the decomp process until I started working with my cat, but I can for sure see how it has high potential for hindering it. 🤦🏻♂️

Thank you so much for answering my (Aria) questions. I loved hearing your answers to all the questions everyone asked. I could watch your oddity videos all day. Your first specimen at seven years old reminded me of something from my own childhood. When I was around 3 to 4 years old, my family lived in the gold mining town of Kalgoorlie for a short time. My big brothers found a HUGE sheep skull (with massive spiralling horns) in the desert and brought it home and I nabbed it for myself. My dad strung it to the front of my little tricycle and I would ride around thinking I was the coolest kid on Earth. I wish I still had it, but it got lost someplace as I grew up. My hubby found one a few years ago on one of his bush hikes (I now live in Adelaide) and I screamed with happiness as it reminded me of the childhood one I had. This one sits in our garden. Maybe I should hook it to the front of my bike though for nostalgia 😁

You're very welcome, thank you for asking them and contributing to the video! It's always nice to hear that people would willingly listen to me infodump about oddities, youtube is really the perfect place for it too 😊 I absolutely adore the story about the sheep skull your brothers found! It sounds like it must have been pretty heavy with those horns too 😮 You were definitely the coolest kid on earth, that's a fact! 🚲 It's a real shame you lost that beautiful skull but I'm very glad to hear your hubby found you another one. I bet that ram would be so much happier to inhabit your lovely garden 🌻

Thank you so much, I had a lot of fun trying to match all the eyeshadow colours to my vest 🌈 Turquoise + orange/yellow is such an underrated colour combo!

I’m so happy your posting!! And you also don’t have to pick up your taxidermy, etc if you do not want to!

Eeee thank you! I'm really enjoying hanging out with you guys again, it's been great so far 😄 Ah, that's good to know you don't mind! Maybe I can do more of an artsy version of a skull collection video where everything stays in its place, then 😅 Either way, I'll do my best to make it happen!

Are you planning on making another altar tour video? :D
@CorvinSometimes2 жыл бұрын
I don't know tbh! My altar is a lot smaller compared to last time I did an altar tour and I don't really use it as much since becoming more agnostic/atheist-leaning 🤔 Maybe I could do something a little different, like a 'setting up my altar' type video instead?

Ive only recently found your channel but as a baby vulture im so glad i did! I found half a rabbit and im hoping to clean the bones up a little as the pelvic girdle is really interesting
@CorvinSometimes4 ай бұрын
Welcome aboard, baby vulture! It's wonderful to have you here 😊 How did you go with those rabbit bones, did they clean up ok? One of my first scavenged animals was also a half rabbit with the pelvic girdle, snap! 🐇

@@CorvinSometimes thank you! I messed up the pelvis a little bit and couldn't degrease it, but i reassembled one of the legs :3

Hey, that's still cool! I bet it's a fine looking leg too 🦵🏻

Would you ever spray paint any bones you next find? If you do, I think black and gold would look nice with a hint of purple?
@CorvinSometimes2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't spray paint them (purely because I'm not very confident using spray paint specifically) but I do paint them sometimes using acrylics! I've done a couple purple-based skulls and recently did a black & gold one. But purple, black & gold on one bone isn't something I had considered until now 🤔 It kinda reminds me of Cadbury colours actually, haha Also feel free to let me know if this question was supposed to be for another q&a and I misinterpreted 😅

This is really late but where do you find bones?
@CorvinSometimes Жыл бұрын
I have a whole video dedicated to this subject on my old channel, but it's very old so beware of incoming cringe: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKWkaH5oesiIe6c I'm planning on re-filming it at some point, but this is all I got for now 😅 Happy bone hunting!

Have you ever thought of going into being a mourtician ? You would probably truly enjoy it and be great at it as well .
@CorvinSometimes2 жыл бұрын
I've definitely given it some thought but I generally prefer working with non-human animals, and I think I'd be better suited to working in a museum or something instead. You also can't be a mortician if you have a history of depression, so I couldn't be one even if I wanted to, sadly 🥲 Thank you though, I appreciate that you think so! 🖤
