Here he shows yet again why he respects „play for the song“ so much: knowing that John‘s and Flea’s parts sound very iconic, plus Anthony’s lyrics, he gives this song the right amount of rhythm and power this song needs. Can’t love this band enough ❤

My Reasons for liking this Song. 01-- The Drums :- The ghost notes on the Snares by Chad Smith. 02-- The Lyrical Genius of Anthony Keidis. 03-- The Vocals of Anthony Keidis.

Oh common, you can't not like the way Flea's bass and Frusciante's guitar complement each other. The lyrics are really good, but that's a separate aspect. Anthony's vocals and Chad's drums especially just add more... fuel to the fire (in a good way if you know what I mean.)

Chad Smith Play on many Albums that High Snare Drum and nobody Cares about, Lars Play it on one Album and all People have a Problem with that.
@AlissonSilva-ox4uz2 жыл бұрын
@@Greekwolf93 I agree, but problem is, that sound didn't fit the rest of the sonority of the album at all, at times Lars plays even without the Snare on (Wich is something that jazz drummers often do). Don't get me wrong i love Lars, i think he's an absolute beast when it comes to originality, and aways was. But the drum sound in St.anger is really something, tho the kick drum sound bothers me much more than the "snare" drum, that trigger noise drives me nuts every damn time

I was playing along to this, having spent a lot of time playing along to the album version of the track on spotify, and was confused why the chorus fill/rest bit was happening before I was ready. Playing both together, it seems that this version has a short first chorus vs the album version.

If they didn’t compress the living f*** out of it, it would probably sound way less harsh and more like it does here. Rick Rubin destroys entire bands lol
