August 23, 2003 Slane Castle, Ireland
Artist: Red Hot Chili Peppers
Album: Californication
Title: Californication
Enjoy it in HD!
Lyrics:
Psychic spies from China
Try to steal your mind's elation
Little girls from Sweden
Dream of silver screen quotations
And if you want these kind of dreams
It's Californication
It's the edge of the world
And all of western civilization
The sun may rise in the East
At least it settles in the final location
It's understood that Hollywood
sells Californication
Pay your surgeon very well
To break the spell of aging
Celebrity skin is this your chin
Or is that war your waging
First born unicorn
Hard core soft porn
Dream of Californication
Dream of Californication
Marry me girl be my fairy to the world
Be my very own constellation
A teenage bride with a baby inside
Getting high on information
And buy me a star on the boulevard
It's Californication
Space may be the final frontier
But it's made in a Hollywood basement
Cobain can you hear the spheres
Singing songs off station to station
And Alderaan's not far away
It's Californication
Born and raised by those who praise
Control of population everybody's been there and
I don't mean on vacation
First born unicorn
Hard core soft porn
Dream of Californication
Dream of Californication
Destruction leads to a very rough road
But it also breeds creation
And earthquakes are to a girl's guitar
They're just another good vibration
And tidal waves couldn't save the world
From Californication
Pay your surgeon very well
To break the spell of aging
Sicker than the rest
There is no test
But this is what you're craving
First born unicorn
Hard core soft porn
Dream of Californication
Dream of Californication
Dream of Californication
Dream of Californica...

About 16 years ago I was on my way to work in London and I used to ride my bicycle in front of BBC studios , in that day the road was closed , I went to the security guard and asked why and he's said that red hot chili peppers were about to do a show live and the whole thing was free , I called sick straight away to work and went to see the concert !!! Memorable moment in my life !!!

@@romangonzalez648 let me know what you think it sure sounds the same to me only “guitar “ style. Don’t get me wrong I think flea and John own absolutely own it,and I thought it was improv as well until I heard samba. Now if you want a good piece of John’s improv “ Before the Beginning “ is awesome and if you like that then you’ll like “Maggot Brain” because it was the song that inspired it. Also a improvised piece from the 70’s by funkadelic. In my opinion I think one of the greatest improvised guitar solos ever! Anyhow, happy listening and rock on brother.

One of the most beautiful intros I‘ve ever heard. It‘s not about how „perfect“ a peace of music is, it‘s not about exact technique or anything like that. It‘s about feeling. The vibes between flea and john in the beginning must have been magical. It‘s incredible.

I always liked Rock and binge listened to all kinds of bands, from Iron Maiden to Nirvana, but I never really played much attention to lyrics, as being a non-native English speaker, most of the time it is really hard to figure out what they are actually speaking, but I read the lyrics for this song today, just out of curiosity, and oh boy they bared the darkness under the shining lights of Hollywood. It is true they don't make these kinds of songs anymore, its all about sex, drugs, lambos, parties, heartbreak and a complimentary dosage of depression.

I don't care who you are or what you're into, that fucking man (nay, god) John Frusciante is THE BEST fucking guitarist since Hendrix. I don't give a shit you think he's not technical, I don't give a shit you think he fumbles, and I don't give a shit you think he's not creative. Which is rubbish. There is not a man nor woman since, who can pick up a guitar and just bleed from the god damn soul like he can when he plays. Like Jimmy could. And I love that John idolizes him. He's as near a reincarnation as there will ever be. The sounds he makes are magical, majestical, other-worldly.

He's literally the reason i saved up all my money as a 13 year old, bought a shitty cheap strat knock-off from cash converters (pawn shop in England) and started learning guitar. YT wasnt nearly as popular back in early to mid 2000s, so I just had to learn by listening and trying to copy my favourite songs. He is my absolute idol and hero, and his style of playing later introduced me to his own influences, like Hendrix. Then I started learning more about music and guitar playing by listening to other artists - Funkadelic, SRV, Clapton etc. But John was and will always be the sole reason why I got into music in the first place. Now I'm 31 and work as a sound engineer, cause thats what I studied at university, but I still play guitar when I have free time, and jam with my friends/"band" and occasionally play small gigs mostly for fun and stuff. And all of these life choices would never have happened if I didn't fall in love with Frusciante's music as a teen.

I will often feel split in half when I listen to some forms of music. Some music may not be the kind I play around the house to listen to and relax too, but I can still tell when it's well done. I was a child and became a teenager in the fifties, so I still have a liking for that kind of sound. I've always managed each generation to find certain groups and songs that I like along with those that I don't. It's like appreciating any other kind of art. My father was the chalk artist, and he also did some beautiful paintings. I found all kinds of works that I like and I don't like, but even among the works that I don't care for, I can still tell when they're well done. I usually don't relaxing chill out to music like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I can appreciate somebody who knows what he's doing musically.
