I have been trying to remember this song for over 25 years, it was playing at a dance club when I met my wife but all these years I only remembered part of one line and I have tried for all these years to remember or find it and today for some reason the full line popped into my mind and I was able to look it up and find the song and when I finally heard it again just shortly ago I almost cried, I'm a former combat soldier and law enforcement officer and I almost cried, well I sort of did. I didn't realize how much it meant to me. I hope when my wife comes home and can play it for her again and hopefully not cry. I never thought a simple old song could remind me of so much. Thanks to whoever put the line in my head today after 25 plus years.

Why didn't this guy get the recognition he deserved.. He had more hits than people that are bigger ( name recognition) than he is.. that doesn't seem right... plus, he wrote a slew of hits for other people..... in the 90's he should have fired his marketing and PR firm.. such a talent..

Listen at how clear the production is. How his voice is on top because it's good. How simple the background music is on the verses. How it ramps up in the chorus but never over powers him. And then it's well written and the hook is good. Now it's all songs about dads and grandpas dying, snap back hats and t-shirts.

I keep reading posts wishing 90s country would come back...lol. Funny thing is in the 90s ...during the "new country" era between roughly 90-96... Folks were saying how this country isnt country and they wanted real country back. Dont get me wrong i grew up listening to 70s and 80s country and i spent my mid teens to early 20s kistening to 90s country so i love it. Its just funny hearing folks now call 90s country real country when it was at one time considered not real country.
