My brother and grandpa have celiac, so I appreciate the increased amount of gluten-free foods. When my grandpa first found out he had celiac, his food options were extremely slim and tended to be rather poor in quality. Since then, I've seen the quality and quantity of gluten-free foods greatly increase. It's a great thing to see. Now, if only school lunches would get on board.

My mom and sister are both Celiac, and therefore when I was in high school most meals were gluten-free. Many people claim that "gluten-free" is a diet that makes you lose weight, fat, whatever... this is not entirely true. Much like veganism, many people lose weight initially because they eat less since many foods that they want to eat no longer fit the criteria. Let's say, however, that this is not the case. If you replace gluten food with gluten-free substitutes, will you be healthier? Probably not. Many foods that are gluten-free are often dairy-free, soy-free, organic, etc. so that it may be used as a "catch-all" for people trying to be healthier. So in the sense of eating more organic, yes you will be better. When looking at the macros, however, many foods are actually MORE unhealthy. Gluten-free cookies, for example, often have more fat and sugar to make up for the lack of taste due to no flour. If you have an intolerance or a disease, go gluten-free (duh). If you want to be "healthier," just exercise more and eat less junk food. No food is unhealthy as long as you have a balanced diet and get proper exercise. Furthermore, if you want less "gluten," don't have gluten-free pasta; just eat something like rice instead.
@logan26697 жыл бұрын
gluten free doesn't help you lose weight more than it will your money...and "gluten intolerance" doesnt scientifically exist and is not recognized as a real condition
@logan26697 жыл бұрын
Ryan Dincher celiac exists...intolerance does not
@RyanDincher7 жыл бұрын
Dustin Rodriguez And I totally agree with that; it's the same way with dairy. That's why many people who live in Asian countries are lactose intolerant... it is simply not a part of their daily diet, and therefore are unable to digest it as well as those of European descent.
@SamSheffer1177 жыл бұрын
Celiac's is a disease but intolerance is not. Something can upset your body but not be a full on disease, hence intolerance. You're body can't tolerate it very well but it isn't a major problem. I don't see how that cannot scientifically exist. I'm not allergic to lactose, so i can drink milk and eat cheese, i just get a minor upset stomach. So i would have a minor lactose intolerance.

Don't go gluten free unless you need to. Gluten free foods actually have a lot more chemicals in them and do not benefit you unless you have a gluten sensitivity or are celiac. Plus they're damn expensive.

Hannah Robin is right. Gluten free doesn't benefit you at all. The chemicals and sugar that they put in gluten free products are really hard on your body. It's equally bad if you eat bad quality crappy gluten products though, so just eating natural, while food is the best option.

plus you let other people not take us seriously because these hipsters think gluten-free makes them special while it is a serious medical problem for many people...
@Lordkelsie7 жыл бұрын
Nah, I disagree. the benefit of people who don't need to be gluten free going gluten free outweighs the joke of hipsters and health enthusiasts the gluten free movement has been a great thing for people with celiac disease and gluten intolerance because a lot of old companies and new companies are making more and more gluten free products. it's amazing because now these people have more variety and more choices for food and has also brought the price of gluten free products down.

I have crohn's and celiac. I haven't had this problem but everyone is different with crohns plus I've been gluten free since 1st grade. I've actually never had foods send me into a crohns flare (I was told I would) so I find that gluten free foods sent you into one very interesting. I wonder what ingredient they all shared that made that so?

This is a video about GLUTEN products. So she's ranting because she's tired of people who sigh, groan, or complain they have to deal with people asking for gluten free products because they legitimately have an intolerance (me) or an allergy (CaleyWarrior101). I have celiac disease and I'm very touched to see you do this episode. It's a few years later I find it, but I remember doing this with my brother, having him tell me how great my good was or how close it was to his. Gluten is actually a compound made from a protein combined with water. and the replacement glue is often xanthum gum.

@goghup7 жыл бұрын
ricky perez me making a comment about dry Mac n' cheese isn't evidence to me being "fat". It was a simple observation that was made. I don't need to reject the "idea" of being fat because I couldn't care less. You made an ignorant assumption to whereas I responded with an equally as ignorant assumption of my own.
@rickyperez81547 жыл бұрын
Angelica Taylor well considering my statement was backed by evidence and yours was random hypotheticaly lets say they were both random i have realized you have a bit of a double chin going on there so theres two reasons why me assuming you're fat isn't biased instead its making an observation as you put it but then again don't leave it to me to decide , instead let me ask you a rather simple question, are you fat ? If you cant determine this yourself (im assuming again because of your use of a strawmans argument pointing to low intelligence levels) take into account these following variables ; do you have shortness of breath when you climb up stairs , when you jump does your body as a whole stay in place of itself or does it jiggle like it would with a fat person, do you have any stretch marks , can you touch your toes without bending your knees ?
@doyouevenhavecommonsense95217 жыл бұрын
ricky perez Even if she is fat, why would that be any of your concern? Also now a days LOTS of people lower their gaze to look at their phone, instead of raising the phone to their gaze. That gives you a double chin despite your weight, along with many other things.
