Seafood boil dumplings make so much sense. I don't know why, but around here, all the "cajun" seafood boil places are owned and operated by asian folks. Like, to the point that the receipts aren't in English. So turning it into dumpling form is only natural.

the weird thing about dumplings is that in classical american cooking a "dumpling" is just a little lump of boiled dough, but then asian food somehow brought over gyoza to be called dumplings, when they're really more like ravioli/pierogi/pelmini in that spectrum of things.
