Hello from Germany! I love this song, your voice, the interpretation. I played it in my car and the oldest of my three sons (7) wanted me to repeat it over and over again. I had to translate each line for him and I did so - days and weeks of sudden questions followed. You touched that little boys soul. One more educated human on the planet.

Isn't it great when your child follows your musical path. I was born & raised listening to Irish rebel songs & now in my 50's my daughter is truly aware of her history as the oppresser writers the history books but the oppressed write the songs. Love from Dublin.

Saw her on a PBS TV show, not sure which one. This tune is a great break from traditional blues. Although I can't say I like most of her stuff I love the other things I've seen her do. The show where Jack White recorded on the original electronic acetate cutter was tasty stuff and the piece she did blew me away.

from LyricWikia Rhiannon Giddens: Come Love Come Come Love Come This song is by Rhiannon Giddens and appears on the album Freedom Highway (2017). Come, love come, the road lies low The way is long and hard I know Come, love come, the road lies free I'll wait for you in Tennessee When I was four, my loving mam Was cornered by the boss's man She turned her head, and got struck down They buried her in the cold, cold ground Come, love come, the road lies low The way is long and hard I know Come, love come, the road lies free I'll wait for you in Tennessee When I was twelwe, my father dear Was strong of arm and free of fear Until the day he raised his hand Then he was sold to Alabam' Come, love come, the road lies low The way is long and hard I know Come, love come, the road lies free I'll wait for you in Tennessee When I was sixteen, found my bloom And found my man, we jumped the broom We pledged each other the rest of our lives And on Saturday nights we were man and wife Come, love come, the road lies low The way is long and hard I know Come, love come, the road lies free I'll wait for you in Tennessee When I was eighteen, bugles called And boys in blue came o'er the wall I took my chance, and followed free They led the way to Tennessee Come, love come, the road lies low The way is long and hard I know Come, love come, the road lies free I'll wait for you in Tennessee So here I sit, in a tiny shack With thirteen others at my back I've sent you word, so all I can do Is wait, and wait, and wait... for you Come, love come, the road lies low The way is long and hard I know Come, love come, the road lies free I'll wait for you in Tennessee I'll wait for you I'll wait for you I'll wait for you I'll wait for you

Heard her music for the first time today on NPR in mid 2020. Her music is amazing as is her story. I highly admire her and what she is singing about. i agree with her 100%. i just wish the vast majority of people of color would follow her footsteps and create something meaningful and positive. I also hope most listen to her music and understand what hatred and prejudice by all skin colors do.

Didn'tlike the editing/shooting style either, I'd rather have a camera staying still the whole song. However, I gave thumbs up for the music. Great song and performance as always. I loved Rhiannon Giddens since Carolina Chocolate Drops!

You know where you can stick that thumb, Bill. Actually, it's probably already up there isn't it. Talk about anal!! I'm sure your judgement of her next gig will be based upon where you happen to be sitting. Doh, ruined already, what with that thumb stuck up there.
