Rhiannon Giddens is a singer, banjo player, violinist, and folk historian. A recipient of the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo & Bluegrass and a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, she is also a founding member of the Grammy-winning traditional African-American string band, Carolina Chocolate Drops.
