If there's a way to manage information across BIM 360 files then that would be amazing. Start with the basics, Project information or something and then go up from there. Eg, pull the project info to check for consistency then push back edits. The biggest struggle I'm having running 30 different files (projects) in one project is trying to manage them all to check and keep consistency. Ehsan do you think that's possible? Thanks!

Love this idea! Ehsan and I ended up talking for another 10-15 minutes afterwards just one BIM 360 ideas haha! Cheers Scott!

@@TheRevitKid I have lots of ideas (problems that need solving) just no time to explore any of them in depth at the moment.

I'd say you'll be need forge for most of that stuff these days.

You could use PyRevit to batch script it all. You could even use Pyrevit to open and close all 30 files and have Grasshopper player run for each file. If you just used Grasshopper it would open all 30 files at once. And it can talk to all 30 at the same time. But I am not sure there is a computer that would want all 30 open. Grasshopper is good at talking to multiple projects at the same time, but normally see 2 - 4 at a time.

Does anyone know if there is blender inside revit? I think it would be good to use with geometry nodes and transform into native revit objects

Seriously, I would rather import the Rhino model into Revit and retrace/draw/insert what I had to with Revit components, then sit in Grasshopper all day(s) searching for the right boxes to drag around and hook to each other; for Every Single Piece of model, there are like at least Three Boxes to drag in and hook up. That example was hardly 1/1000 of a finished building (what you need for CDs) and look how complex the Grasshopper diagram was. My gawd, a complete building would be a Grasshopper nightmare. This would be handy for drawing the things in Rhino that you cannot in Revit, but that's about it--- and you don't even need Grasshopper for that, really. If Grasshopper had AI that could recognize building components in Rhino (like if something looks like a window, or door, it makes it a window, or door) this would be a whole other story.

I was struggling rendering with Vray from Revit with some models exported from Rhino and I have found a way to preserve Rhino´s materials when you import a cad to revit: Skecthup format file. Is not a native way to interact but when you where asking when someone gives you a model of Rhino.. It gives you at least the colours.
@TheRevitKid2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I have seen the Cad to Revit import export work well with other formats too!

Open a model of a building that was modeled in Rhino (not even with complete construction details, just what you would have for walk-thrus and rendering), feed it thru Grasshopper into Revit; make some schedules for simple stuff like doors, windows, fixtures too. Make that video. I don't think anyone can, or will do that ever.

will Rhino and Revit survive after AI softwares take over
@TheRevitKid Жыл бұрын
That's a ridiculous statement. Of course they will.

AI is not going to takeover...ever....never... They can only be a helping hands.
