My heart is heavy and broken at the loss of Olivia Newton-John, who passed away last week. Our world has lost one of the greatest human beings of our time. When I look back to the time when she gave us so much love and devotion with her incredible voice , I always consider her one of the best ; And now we face a world without her gentle soul to be able to inspire and help us feel about life. She will be greatly missed. But on the other hand I am happy that she doesn't have to fight with her terrible battle with cancer anymore and that she is finally at peace too. We will miss her so much! A legend. A true star. Thank you Olivia for all that you have given us for so many years...

Why can't they make wholesome music videos like this anymore ? It's a shame it's so wholesome.
@thekidkazoo2 жыл бұрын
Because now we’re obsessed with sexualizing the female body to the most unattainable, ridiculous form that we can. We’re porn and sex obsessed. Everyone’s obsessed with being woke, and they think being woke means fucking as many people as they can, as much as they can, and doing drugs. If you’re monogamous, can’t or won’t do drugs, have kids, work a job, and have actual life goals and ambitions then apparently that means you’re not woke and you’re a prude.

"They" do make videos like this today. There's room for edgy, risqué stuff, and straightforward content like this. You DO know that Olivia herself made "Soul Kiss" the year before this and was banned on the radio in Utah four years prior to that. By the way, there are people who find "wholesome" schmaltz just as hard-to-watch as the risqué. Think Hallmark Christmas McMovies [sic].

Part of ONJ's appeal is that she's a massive talent, but she doesn't seem to take herself as seriously as she could! She looks like she's a real person, who hasn't let all fake stuff take her down a fake road! RIP Olivia. (whoever came up with the bass line is a genious! I just homed in on it, and it's all over the place.... but, it makes the chord structure and voicing make perfect sense.)

Oh, that bass line is classic David Foster synth bass. Not that I think he played it or necessarily came up with it, it was likely his trusted session keyboardist Greg Phillinganes. But I'm sure he coaxed whoever played it into that territory. You hear similar bass lines on Chicago's greatest ballad hits, (which of course Foster produced as well as co-wrote).

Yes, totally agree! Better as a duet. Wow, she added intimacy and depth to this version!

A life well lived. Olivia was extraordinary. This world still so needs Olivia's joyous,strong soul & angelic voice to keep inspiring millions. Ripping her from her family, (& the world),is inexplicable..We watched her suffer, yet we watched her smile through it all...only so she could inspire those who were also I'll. Here's a woman who built a unique, world-class cancer institute while wretched Streisand shows off the shrine that she's built to her own self/ her career in her basement? What a contrast of beauty vs. ugliness.

Don't do that?? Olivia was a beautiful person. Don't put ugly thoughts and her name in the same sentence. I put the wrath on you! Yuck!
