A fun fact about the Ramones song "I Wanna Be Sedated" is that it was written in response to the band's experiences while on a grueling tour. During that period, the members of the Ramones were tired and exhausted from the intensity of their lifestyle in the world of punk rock. The song captures the feeling of exhaustion and the need to escape from that reality through sedation.

If you play the video at half-speed (by tapping the screen and changing the setting) you can see that Joey's lip-synching and all of the band's movements had to be done super slowly in order to make everyone else's movements seem frenetic when played back at full speed. Although the song was released in 1978 (I know!!) apparently this video was made in 1988 before camera magic and deep fakes existed. Brilliant!!

@@kt9166 It takes some time, but it's easy enough once you get it down (unless you're gonna go for 1977 - 1979 live speed.) It *does* take muscle, and that's easy to lose if you stop. And you definitely need the guitar to be strapped low for your strumming arm and at an angle for your fretting arm, or it'll never work out. And doggone it, they didn't play *"power chords,"* they were into barre chords that were only strummed downwards. Though I did hear of background guitars in the later album versions of songs, I haven't checked that out.

To everyone who is sad and still understandably mourning these legends. Just remember they made this music to entertain us and share there thoughts and ideas and creativity. They all would want us to keep partying to there music and remember who changed generations.
