Back in 1987, I wrote a letter to this band telling them what I fan I was of their music. Not only did they send me an autographed photo of themselves, the singer, Valerie Day, handwrote me a letter of thanks. That was exciting to a 16 year old boy at that time

THANK YOU SO MUCH VALERIE..... We sang THIS SONG IN COMBAT nonstop. Especially at the part, "No turning back, it's much too late, to go back now would be a big mistake!" It was OUR good luck song, and I served 5 tours of duty. We ONLY lost one Marine, and I'm PROUD of that, especially with all the fire fights we endured. God rest his soul. I myself was wounded on my last tour, shot 7 times on my right side. I lost both hips and cannot walk normal, but I'm home safe and sound. I was well taken care of at Bethesda, 5 EAST, God bless those doctors and nurses. Again, THANK YOU VALERIE!!! Semper Fidelis, Captain T, U.S.M.C.

@@derrickmoss8147 Drill Sergeant??? That's HARDCORE brother. I respect any DI or DS because you have to train those men and women to understand what Combat TRULY is. I was enlisted myself first. I didn't become an officer until I was a Corporal. I went in with a college education and just chose NOT to sign up for 6 years, which officer training was, and enlisted was 4. Four years is doable, but 6??? What if I hated this life. I wouldn't be getting out until I was almost 30 years old. My main years of career life would be over. I needed to be sure. Best move I ever made because the men that served with me, knew I was once in their shoes. Notice I didn't say UNDER ME because I always thought that was a Napoleon Complex, that you have to stress those men served under me, or they worked for me. NOOO, they work for the company and you just happen to be higher up on the food chain, that's all. I believed you GIVE RESPECT to those who serve with you and you get ten times back. I had WAYYYY more appreciation than any other officer. These men would have ran through a brick wall for me, and for that I'm honored. Many blessings brother, and I loved the Forrest Gump reference. Classic... Now you only have to say......JENNY!!!!

It’s hard to find good music and I do adore the music of the 80’s it’s fun exciting and vibrant I love it I felt as though it was apart of me .

Valerie was a cutie back in the day, half the reason I listened to their first hit song, I can’t wait, was because I thought she was sweet looking.

I lived in Portland when this song came out. I was so proud of our local artists making it big. Every time this video came on MTV it was one of those "scream and run to the TV and dance "moments. Always preferred this track to I Can't Wait, which was a bigger hit.

Got to see them in 1986 at WDW in Florida for our senior class night out. They were Awesome in concert !! Music was so hot and fresh back then , It will never ever be the same nowadays!! I’m 52 years old and this song still kicks A_S!! My best friend even snagged one of the drummers sticks and it said Nu Shooz on it!! He still has it to this day😎 No other decade has been or will be the Eighties!! Rock on Nu Shooz!!

Anyone who hates today's music should check out New Retro Wave... There is an entire movement bringing back the sounds of the 80s, with a bit of a modern twist. Artists like Timecop1983, Bart Graft, Trevor Something, Mitch Murder, Phaserland, September 87, etc are all NEW artists who were heavily inspired by the golden age of music. Some of us young cats (born in '91) love these sounds as well.

Ah 1986,,,, So many good memories,,,, I wish I could go back to 1986 and start my life over. Knowing what I know now, I would take advantage of so many opportunities that came along back then and my life would be 100% better. But life wasn't meant to be like that. I'm at the point of no return I guess :-)
@clintonhouston10487 жыл бұрын
DRock6906. I could not agree more, I think about wishing I could go back to the 80's and re live my life, of course I would do some things differently, but at least I be where I feel I belong (the 80's).
