It’s important for potential rhinoplasty patients to be educated about having a nose job. It is a rewarding process that requires some good decision making in advance.
One of the most important factors is choosing a properly qualified and experienced facial plastic surgeon. A facial cosmetic surgeon is an expert in head and neck procedures and will have the best knowledge and skilled training possible for this type of complex cosmetic surgery. A general plastic surgeon who does body work, such as breast augmentation, will not have the same qualifications to perform a nose job. After booking rhinoplasty surgery, one should closely follow the facility’s instructions and rhinoplasty guidelines to ensure a smooth process. Some of these will include stopping certain medications that can cause more bruising and bleeding, others will involve going for pre-surgical tests for blood work and a chest x-ray to ensure that patient is in optimal health to undergo surgery.
Other important considerations are to make sure you are mentally and emotionally prepared for the surgery and for the changes that will gradually take place, up to one full year after surgery. Once you have had your rhinoplasty, follow the post-operative guidelines carefully.
