I’m originally from Maine As you know, lobster fishing Is important industry. The rules and regulations are much stricter in Maine than in Massachusetts & Rhode Island , 3 pound lobsters are the limit to harvest in Maine however those restrictions are not adhere to in other states. The very large lobsters are referred to as breeders, some having thousands of eggs. female lobsters are also marked! Demand for larger lobsters is one contributing factor to the reduced population ! My fear greed will continue to affect the lobster population along with other Mitigating circumstances !

I think it's incredibly sad how lightly we take this stuff. I think many people have lost sight of the fact we need wildlife to survive, they don't need us. If we destroy the ecosystem, we ultimately destroy ourselves. But I guess tha a conversation not everyone is ready to have because the truth isn't convenient.

No…the lobster industry is the most regulated of all fisheries . This is climate change …and fertilizer run off . Trust me I know this business .

The same thing has already happened in Alaskan waters, the crab season that was cancelled for the last two years.
