Very nice video! FYI the SOG Pup that was used in the movie did not have a Custom Built Kydex Sheath back in the early 2000s SOG offered Kydex Sheath like the one in the movie for many of their knives for a small upcharge. I served in the Navy right after Sept 11, 2001 and I was part of a Harbor Security Unit that was trained to board ships and inspect them we also ran around the harbor in 32 foot boats that were well armed and we carried the gear needed to inspect and if needed Win a firefight and we were issued SOG Seal Team knives which was just a beefier version of the Seal Pup with a 7 inch blade but I ended up putting it away for an old trusted knife my Buck 184 which I could use to open a crate or cut thru anything. We were issued a Tactical Vest that had a build in Repelling and Extraction harness and Emergency Flotation Device similar to what Aviation Aircrew wear but with the addition of space for pistol and rifle magazines plus goodies like Breaching shotgun shells and Explosive Breaching Charges plus a couple of Smoke or Tear Gas Grenades. I had a Parachute Rigger buddy of mine add some webbing so I could attach my Buck 184 to the rear of my Vest almost like a Recon Carry because the front was too busy with the Flotation routing. I believe the vest were made by London Bridge Trading there in Virginia Beach, VA and now wish I had kept my vest since less than 150 of those vest were made and I gave mine to a buddy that was heading on deployment and the Eagle/Blackhawk Vest that was being issued at the time was not as Robust and Well Build as the Basically Custom made ones we originally got but he did NOT get my Buck 184 but he was begging me to let him borrow it! :)

The only issue I got with chest rigs is, when you're under fire and having to hug the ground, how do you get your hands into that magazine pouch?
@af22raptor235034 ай бұрын
@@nickmitsialis There really isn't a good answer other than having a couple of mag pouches on the sides to make it easier to grab while on the ground. I have setup my TAP chest rigs with a single double magazine pouch on the far left and far right of the rig to make it easier to reload from the ground. I have done a similar thing with my Eagle H-Harness but I put two Quad Magazine Pouch at 3 and 9 o'clock with non-ammo toward the front and suspenders. I added an Eagle USMC FSBE MAP Modular Assault Pack to my H-Harness and I am also adding a waist pack to the rear panel under neath the MAP.

"Lone Survivor" book wasn't exactly non-fiction. It had a lot of fiction in it, once we consider all the sources that conflict with it (while being mutually supporting). Ahmed Shah wasn't exactly Taliban at that moment, operation was called Red Wings (not Redwing), there were only a dozen of insurgents, etc. My favourite was piece is the video recording of that ambush made by one of the Shah's men. I highly recommend anyone interested in the topic to search for it.

Usually the book is better than the movie, in this case the book was HORRIBLE and the movie was AWSOME ....Marcus Luttrell ruined that book.....it was so bad.
