Reacting poorly to alcohol doesn't make you an alcoholic. That makes you an angry drunk. Those are two different things. Alcoholism is an addiction. Dorinda reacts horribly to alcohol but she doesn't feel she NEEDS it and isn't sneaking around drinking to cope with things. That's the difference between Luanne and Dorinda. People like to use the word alcoholic in any negative aspect of drinking but an addiction is something completely separate​.

I agree 1000%!!! My ex is a certified recovering alcoholic and also a narcissist. Went to rehab and all... he was an extremely happy, coherent (in the moment) alcoholic, but if he slowed down or began to taper off close to passing out/bedtime, he was NASTY!!! You'd wanna help him pass out with the things that would come out of his mouth, believe you me... Dorinda tries to stay cordial and things go unresolved. So once she's had one too many, you're going to feel her pain. I love Dorinda and I could tell the difference right away!

When you are drunk after ONE glass, is having a low tolerance. D gulps down more than one and becomes mean. I know someone who binge drinks and is mean when they do it. He's a functioning alcoholic. Carole shot herself in the foot with that new face. I mean she lost the fight with Bethenny by just looking mean and jealous. My one regret is Dorinda never given a full chance to show how she really feels about Bethenny. That woman had a weird love/hate thing for Bethenny.

Bethany has a lot of pain in her soul. I know her childhood wasn't a normal one. That's why she's has narcissistic tendencies. As a mother I want to hug her. It's so important to tell your kids you love them and that they feel secure. Dorinda does have a drinking problem but I like her when she's sober. I really hope she gets help. I'm sad for both of them. It just proves that money's not everything in life.
