I remember crushing out on Tim when he was in a BBC production about Shakespeare in the 1970s (on ABC Australia). Then RHPS. Was disappointed when I saw Times Square & he'd turned quite middle aged. Sigh. But always a decent actor & singer, even if I only saw a few of his performances after that. RHPS will always have a place in my ❤️.

@@mothermagenta9123 unfortunately governments and big $$$$$$$$ co-opted movements and watered things down as well as straight up infiltrating and destroying a whole lot. They knew the people were getting too powerful. It's not all the people's fault. It's still happening now. You tried, what matters is we never stop learning and growing and trying to do better by our communities, and don't shoot down people's dreams to build a better world.

I remember being absolutely fascinated by Tim Curry in Wil Shakespeare (1978 BBC) probably in my last year of high school. Then only catching RHPS in 1980 or 1981, 5-6 years after it came out. Good actor, but he aged out of heartthrob status pretty quickly after that. Saw him in Times Square (1980 movie) and almost didn't recognise him at first especially out of fancy dress and tights.

Yes it makes me sad too. His acting, actions , and vocal talents r completely unfathomable. His voice was so crisp. It's crazy if u think about the this storyline, but if u just enjoy the music and praise this craziness and participate, than it's the best thing to ever experience .

My stepdad showed me pictures a while ago of him dressed in drag. It looked eerily realistic (in the sense of femininity) and he explained to me that he wore that outfit with his friends every time that they went to the cinema to watch RHPS. He apparently got hit on by MULTIPLE dudes. It was a very good bonding experience, and it helped us bond.

Stop using shitty ableist terms like 'confined to a wheelchair'. Wheelchairs get you out of the house and enable you to travel and do almost everything a walking person does. There's nothing 'confining' about them. We disabled people don't want your pity.

The impact this show has had is almost immeasurable... I remember watching it for the very first time in 2008 as a bright eyed and bushy tailed 16 year old, a typical "good little Christian girl", knowing I "shouldn't" be absolutely drinking it up like I was. And yet I had never felt more seen and welcome for the freakiness inside that I had barely recognized was lying dormant there. Finally 15 long years later, after battling heaps of denial and indoctrination, thanks to hard-won self-discovery and self-actualization, I can proudly say that I am kinky as an old garden hose and queer as a $3 bill and couldn't be happier!! Be yourselves folks, everyone else is taken 💜

My BFF Lara and I went together to audience participation a few times. We talked about one day dressing up like Magenta (her, cuz though naturally blonde, usually black and only occasionally red, her hair had been rather frizzy in high school when we met, and she really was a superfreak 😅) and Riff Raff and have elbow sex to our hearts delight. She passed away unexpectedly in February 2020 at age 32. I wish I could watch the 2016 reboot with her. Much to my surprise I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I miss her every day and we never did get to realize those cosplay goals, but I know we will do the Time Warp again, eventually.

Okay... I just had to relive my youth. I'm 66 now and partially disabled. In the early days of RHPS, through the last half of 1981, I was in the Tampa, FL cast (U.C. Players - University Cinema - University Square Mall), as Dr. Frank. My girlfriend, at the time, played Columbia. I think I still have a suitcase somewhere in the garage, with pieces (most? all?) of the costume and some of the props. It's hard to think that was over 40 years ago.

I never really liked the music all that much (and I've done Fiddler on the Roof to Cabaret, to Chicago, etc.), but I always loved the RHPS soundtrack. Finally, a few years back, One of the theater groups decided to do RHPS and asked if I was interested. We had a pretty good band, and I got to play the entire sold out run, and to this day, it has been one of the highlights of my "career".

skeeter197140, a slight correction, if I may. If the theater group was doing it, they were doing RHS (Rocky Horror Show), the stageplay. RHPS was only the movie.

I watched this when I was 9, On the opening night of Channel 4 in the U.K……and I knew then I wasn’t alone anymore ❤ I got to met Richard O’Brian many years later when I was a stage manager and told him this, he was an absolute peach 😍 xx

I am absolutely heartbroken that Tim Curry suffered a stroke and is in a wheelchair. I pray that Tim will be able to walk again. Such a beautiful talented man.

My most watched and participated in movie ever @ over 350+ shows back in the 80s. I have been a long time fan of Tim Curry's musical career and acting career. Even to this day, if I hear his music, I have to sing along with him. As for the whole cast, I love them.

One of my all time favorites ❤ there’s a clip in this video of Barry Bostwick singing Once in A While at a Q & A event in my hometown- I was there and it literally moved me to tears to hear him sing live!!!

I absolutely lost it at the end💔😪 I hate seeing Tim like this😪 My grandma and grandpa introduced me and my cousins to this when we were little and it was a family favorite❤️ Sadly my grandma who absolutely adored Tim passed away due to her stroke that left her whole leftside paralyzed💔😪 Sure hits me hard in the gut seeing him like that and knowing how he has to be feeling and his loved one's🫂 Give him that star before it's too late Hollywood👏👏👏

My first RHPS experience was the soundtrack. I learned to Time Warp at church camp. Church camp is also where I learned about Bat Out of Hell as well. To be fair, you didn’t go to church camp to get your Bible on, you went because it was a blast. It was the 80s though, so parents were happy to get you out of the house for a minute.
