He is an amazing singer. I said it two years ago and i'll say it again- the fact a distinctly sub average singer like Leon Jackson can get more votes than a singer like Rhydian proves just how meaningless shows like the x factor are, and how cluless the public are in their naive acceptance of average mainstream music. Good on him for showing his critics what REAL talent is.

I am french and i think the best x factor uk winner and singer of all time is Joe Mc elderry! All his performances were incredible and his duet with the great Georges Mickael was really fantastic! This young singer can sing anything (pop, opera....)!

@@444JMS No, I didn't know about XF until I saw Joe's audition, so I kept scrolling to listen to others, and found new and old songs that I'd either forgotten or never heard and instantly fell in love with them. I've watched American Idol since Season 8 I think, watched 3 years of XF here in the states. It got cancelled because viewers were dropping by the millions. We have AGT and The Voice. This year with the pandemic, I didn't even pay attention. Idol just had their 2nd night of auditions and it looks like there is a lot of talent this year. I try to find other singers like the one you mentioned, because of my love of music. I spend so much more time here than Facebook, etc.

Joe has an easy to listen to Melodic voice while Rhydian's is more of a Technical Trained Voice that he uses perfectly no matter the Song he sings...... Listening wise we never get tired or bored listening to Joe..... Rhydian we have to be in the mood for but the more you listen to his performances the more you like him..... ***** That's right, I had that discussion with 1RomanticSoul a couple of months ago but until you just said that, I had forgotten. I have meds that interfere with my memory in the worst way. I had never heard "Dance with my father" until Joe sang it. I had no idea that it was Luther VanDross's song until Joe was telling the judges at his audition. I listened to his version and I have to admit that at the end of the season, after I'm sure the vocal coaches worked with Joe on his breathing and vibrato, his voice was like velvet when he sang it.

The people of Scotland got behind Leon & he won the Xfactor. Good luck to him, he was a talented singer & a nice guy, but with no disrespect intended, Rhydian was in a totally different league. He really was & is World Class.

This is truely legend. Slowly building the power and tone as he "reaches up the unreachable star", the three keychange part at the middle is unbelievable and the slow moment after where he is "laid to his rest" is full of nuances and emotion that just tingles your spine. A truely defining moment of live performances. IMO definitely a best version of this song.

He gets a standing ovation every time that he sings The Impossible Dream in his concerts. I never get tired of hearing him sing it. He is an extremely versatile singer and his voice just gets better and better. Thrille d to have listened to the sample tracks today of his forthcoming Classical Album "One Day Like This". It sounds as though it is going to be great.

Rhydian has sold 600,000+ copies of his album (double platinum) and is producing album no. 2. Also, right this moment, he is playing his Sold Out Tour.And the reviews coming in are superb. All others from XF4 (incl the winner) have been dropped &their combined tour -SD&LJ- has been mostly cancelled after very low sales. Rhydian proved the point that he is World Class and the oublic are buying into him as an artist. The others missed the boat..

The Impossible Dream is, technically, a very difficult song to perform. It's not one of my favourites, but I respect anybody who has a good go at it. I wasnt a big fan of Rhydian last year to be honest, the way he was presented and the 'attitude' and stuff, it just kinda put me off. But after watching this, he earned my respect. Thats for sure.
