Le premier à se lancer sur la piste (d’atterrissage) de Passengers ? @rhyemusic ! Au début un projet en duo, Rhye est aujourd’hui resserré autour de la figure de Mike Milosh, musicien et chanteur originaire du Canada.
Seul aux commandes, Mike Milosh développe une electro influencée par la soul et le funk. L’artiste prend pourtant un malin plaisir à ralentir le rythme de ces musiques taillées pour les dancefloors. Ce faisant, il en sublime la beauté et la sensualité.
Il se dégage donc une douce langueur des compositions de Rhye. Les onze morceaux qui composent l’album Blood (2018, Loma Vista Recordings) font parfois penser à du James Blake en moins écorché, en plus suave. Une musique qui fait planer.
Pour inaugurer ce premier épisode de Passengers, c’est dans le dans le hall M du terminal 2E de l'aéroport Paris-Charles de Gaulle que nous retrouvons Rhye. Accrochez vos ceintures, on décolle.

Erster (Flug-)Gast der neuen Passengers-Reihe ist Rhye. Rhye war ursprünglich ein Duo und ist heute das Soloprojekt des kanadischen Musikers und Sängers Mike Milosh.
Am Mischpult entwickelt der Einzelgänger einen von Soul und Funk inspirierten Elektro, dessen Rhythmus er bewusst entschleunigt, um die Schönheit und Sinnlichkeit dieser eigentlich für die Tanzfläche gedachten Musik stärker herauszuarbeiten.
Rhyes Kompositionen verströmen chillige Coolness, was auch die elf Tracks seines 2018 bei Loma Vista Recordings erschienenen Albums „Blood“ beweisen, die wie eine entspanntere und gediegenere Version von James Blake daherkommen. Musik zum Seele baumeln lassen.
In der ersten Folge von Passengers begrüßen wir Rhye im Terminal 2E des Flughafens Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle. Sitzgurte schließen, wir heben ab!
