Rhythm 1: Nyabinghi

Hello budding freestyle drummers! It's time to learn your first rhythm, based on the Nyabinghi rhythm.

It's a great rhythm, and one that will be used in upcoming videos as a basis games and exercises so it's important that you get comfortable with it before proceeding. Don't forget that you can speed up or slow down the playback speed to adjust the difficulty if you want.

nyabinghi over simplyfied!! nayabinghi is much more then just a drum beat and you are playing a pattern that the kette drum or also called repeater drum would play, to say just improvize has nothing to do with nyabinghi because nyabinghi follows a strickt pattern and there are three drums : base, kette and fundeh. mostly two big bass drums used one resembles the heart beat and the other called rolling thunder is self explanatory. the bass the fundeh is the one saying:" do good do good" the kette tells a story the, rolling thunder defeats babylon and the other base is the heart beat of the world .this type of drumming is for deep meditation and a peacfull weapon against babylon also rivers of babylon fits for binghi chants. real nyabinghi will take you to a journey to the deepest of yourself and same time to highest spiritual you and the whole world. and forget your peanut butter but chant for example bakra master you come again slave master you come again. binghi drumming is thousends of years spritual drumming it has such a driving beat and at same time calm and peacefull. agood exaple of nyabinghi is found in reagea songs like the one from bob marly "rasta man chant" and many more. raggea music has its roots in nyabinghi drumming.nyabinghi means death to all white and black opressors, it is named after the african warrior queen nyabinghi since it is played by rastfarians but is much older then rastafarian movment as we know it and it sound like this kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3bZqWWFl7OafpI like the rasta in the video says nyabinghi is no plaything

Thanks for your feedback. I agree with you. These videos are an introduction to freestyle hand drumming, so it's meant as a starting place for getting newcomers to drumming excited about exploring rhythms. This rhythm is based on the Nyabinghi rhythm, or a part of it, hence the title. I am not claiming to be teaching the traditional Nyabinghi. I refer to it, I try to give some context, and respect where the rhythm comes from and how it is used, and I leave a link for people who want to explore it in more depth. Rhythm and music are universal languages for healing and uniting all people in peace and harmony.

Then your title should be more clear about it. In the tile it says "Nyabinghi" and thats sort of ritual or prayer,you could call the video Binghi inspirates deumm pattern not Binghi, again Binghi is no plaything, Raspec for recognizing the energy of the drummpattern but the title is not what it claims to be
