I so do not understand any of this. I mean, I get very little. I understand the notes and how to read them, the eighth, half, whole, A B C G.... and how to read most of the notes but when it comes down to actually utilizing what I have learned... NOPE! I do not know what it is I am not comprehending but there is something very vital (and likely fundamental) that I am just missing! Maybe I am psyching myself out by being nervous and apprehensive...????... I truly do not know. But, I want so much to be able to truly understand it fully because it's all just so beautiful and simply complicated. Delicate, yet strong! It's MUSIC! It's wonderful!! And, I want to understand!!

Don't overthink things. Let yourself go and just go along. Start with basic patterns - search for 'Ta Ti-Ti Shh' or 'To Ta Ta' or 'Ti-Ti Shh Ta' etc to ease into rhythm and rhythm patterns. Above all, enjoy music!

@Mr.Gordon3 жыл бұрын
the measures in this video are 4 beats, yes. It depends on the time signature at the beginning of the music. Here is a video that explains time signatures and how some measures have a different number of beats: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5rPc4qKbsZghdE

Haha I kept opening my hands after every clap and my piano teacher kept explaining why it’s important to leave them together if there’s not a rest. I think I understood the assignment but months of self teaching and years of drinking made my coordination off. I got through like half a level 1 method book just ‘guesstimating’ rhythm :/
