i have a pretty basic question and i would appreciate if anyone had an answer. Ive been playing and making music for a very long time but ive only recently started learning sheet music. So lets say you have a metronome in 4/4. It goes: *TACK* _tic_ _tic_ _tic_ *TACK* _tic_ _tic_ _tic_ *TACK* _tic_ _tic_ _tic_ .... would you say ONE beat is every time the " *TACK* " comes around? Or is every single " _tic_ " equal to 1 beat and every '" *TACK* " 1 measure? so when you go "ONE e and a TWO e and a THREE e and a, etc" do the "e and a" go between every single tics and tacks? or are the "e and a" the " _tics_ " between the " *TACK* "? this question is a little hard to formulate in words when you dont have the proper lingo lmao but i would really appreciate a response

one beat is on every sound. The Tack indicates a new 4/4 measure or the first beat of the measure, but every sound is a beat.

Nice lesson. However, I think students could better understand how cruicial this thing if you played a famous melody with a correct rhythm and incorrect one, so students understand that it's not enough to play a correct note, they need to respect rhythm and note value

So if in 6/8 a whole note is worth 8 beats, does that mean that a whole note wont fit in a 6/8 measure?

I've been watching a lot of your videos and they have been amazing, my only criticism is that your voice when facing the camera is like slightly lower than when you are not. Small thing for sure. Thanks for you very good videos!

Does a grace note affect rhythm?
@LessonsOnTheWeb5 жыл бұрын
no, the principal note (the big one) still plays on the beat it is intended.
