Remember that Ravana was a great worshiper of lord Shiva but by nature he was Rakshasha so he did bad works . Means he is evil . In Hinduism you will get everything according to your Karma not by who you are worshipping . Even a Nastik is good if he does good karma

Everything being a part of Parabrahman doesn't mean there can't be good and evil. Evil was caused by the freedom of liberty given to low intellectual living entities by the God almighty. Ravan was supposed to do this. A servant of Vishnu, he was fated to be against Vishnu in these lifetimes such as during the life of ram. Ravana wanted to avenge his sister who was played by ram and had her nose cut by lakshman when she got angry. There is a lot more about the story that people don't speak about

he was cursedby Shree Hari Vishnu.. but even in his curse.. even while being a subject to show others what happens to those who do Adharm, he did remarkable things incl. composing the Shivtandav strotram (with Ma Saraswati's help) & compiling Vedas into musical hymns. what he did he got his due, but in his 3 births of curse, this life was the best.

@@ThatComedicReliefFriend Though it is true that ravana was fated to die by the hands of Vishnu (all mighty) but shree Ram did not play his sister, she came with a wish to Lakshman but he strongly refused her still she refused and spoke bad about his brother Ram and Mata Sita and Lakshman could not hear bad about them becz of which he cut her nose Hope so you understand this and take it in stride.😊

Ravana brahma He got his knowledge from his father He followed the words of his father In which it's says Mathrudhevohaava , pithrudhevobhava,....... Which says mother comes first then comes father So he followed his mother's word as asuras blood flows through him And he is fated to fight against lord ram(as vishnumurthi avathar)

@@reyanguha4302 Ur not wrong. But when you know the details, you know how she approached both the brothers and how they kept telling her to go to the other brother instead of simply rejecting her. She was a widow betrayed by her husband with a child who thought that her brother betrayed her by killing the love of her life. You miss the fact that Indian Epics are written with such skill and realism that one cannot declare a hero or a villain.

@@x-men390For Moksha, he already aware of his evil doings and near end and also aware of Rama as Avatar of MahaVishnu. Sita was also aware that Ravana already know about his bad deeds. But I think his brother, Kumbhakarana, was better in understanding Dharma, and opposing Adharma as he already told Ravana to give back Ma Sita to Rama. Vibhishad was good too, but eventually he was called "Lanka Bhedi" By his own brother Ravana and Kumbhakarna, but he choose Narayana, which is good thing if you ask me. So basically It's also "Leela" Just like Krishna.

Ramprasad.. you are confused, Lakshaman didn't attack supranakha cause she was a woman, he attacked her cause she was going to harm his brother and brother's wife. And it had nothing to do with supranakha's family either, supranakhas brother Vibhishan was the one who was declared victor and king of Lanka. Ravan though a bhakt still couldn't escape his karma, his pot of ill deed was full, but he still followed his duty and fought knowing he would lose everything. He was a great king but not a good man.. Ramayan isn't about how to be a great king rather how to be a good man, Shree Ram is the ideal man.. he has no otherworldly powers, all he has is his brother, his friends, and his will to protect his family.

Obviously Lord Vishnu would have to rebirth. Why? Lord Shiva would never hurt his devotees, same way Lord Vishnu won't hurt his devotees. It's as if asking for the king of any kingdom A to kill it's subjects. Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu are one, with different faces and values. @@awfullynasty Oh why is he a king? What is the quality of brahmin? Edit: can you be both a king and brahmin? Also it does matter if his mother is an asura. Otherwise, according to you, Ghatotkacha could have been a prince in Hastynapura, but he can't cause he's still a rakshisa.

Those who are saying in the comment section that Ravan was a hero, let me remind you, Ramayan is our history not any 3rd class movie in which there are heroes and villains. Also, once go and read Valmiki Ramayan r else just watch Siya ke Ram and you will know that he was a rapist . It doesn't matter if he was a great devotee of lord Shiva or he was a very wise and knowledgeable person, because that cannot whitewash his biggest sin that is rape. He was an adharmi and egoistic person.

@@satyanarayanavejju1353 i think you need to read Ramayana first...although Ravana was one of the greatest devotees of Lord Shiva, on the other hand he was also a rapist and as @shinjonmal8936 said he did rape Apsaras and even the daughter-in-law of the lord of wealth i.e. Kubera....so you should also know these things before talking anything rubbish...! Also pardon me if my words anyhow hurt you..I didn't mean it !!!
