Before it was the Ottoman Empire, it was referred to as "The Byzatine" or "Eastern Roman Empire" A place where "Slavs", Hellens, Latins and Celts lived. You claim it was the ottomans that gave them culture, i disagree. It was the Greco-Romans, who created helped create "Slavic" culture through the spread of Christianity by spreading the "Word of God" to the unwanted " Macedons", "Greeks", Celts, "Latins", Scythians, "Germanics" and other Proto Slavic peoples. Salvo (Latin) --> Slavo (Slavic hearing of the Latin word Salvo, before Latin and Cyrillic were the official alphabets among proto Slavs). Then from Slavo, to Slav. Also tied to "Pravo-Slav" meaning "Correct faith, or Straight and true faith". And Slava, meaning Celebration, Honor and Glory (Tied to the Christian God, while the Greeks and Romans spread Christianity to the Proto Slavs). Slavic Culture was officially alive by 1000 A.D. In today's Skoplje (Macedonia). Thanks to Cyril ( Half Greek and half Slav) and his friend Methodias (The Roman). Both of whom were Monks. That is the true origin of Slavic culture. All this would not be possible without the Greeks and the Romans.
@PM-fb3vm7 жыл бұрын
Credit where Credit is due. Christian Greeks and Christian Romans spreading "Slava" (Glory) to the Pagans and then hosting "Slava's" Glorious celebrations in the name of God. and the word "Slova" means both "Word and Letter" all of which was easily accessible at both the "Bibliateka" (Library) [ Biblia: Greco-Roman for Book: But Slavic for Bible] and through the Biblia (Bible). the truth comes out, eventually. 1 year, or 1000 years. It comes out in one way, shape or form. And when I hear the Slavic languages... I hear the echo's of Latin, Greek and Celtic influences that created their words which were modified over the last 2000 years.
