The man with the green chicken is Mraize. He showed up in Oathbringer with a green chicken as part of Ialai's retinue. Agree it was nice to see Zahel use his powers, but we also see how broken he is. He hates gods, and I'm convinced some of that loathing is internally directed. If he ever takes an active role on Roshar, it will take some inner healing. Which I hope happens because he's one of my favorite Cosmere characters. Looking forward to your next installment (and your attic has excellent lighting)!

Oh that makes so much since and now has me thinking about that scene a lot...not like we have ever trust Mraize but I did think he was anti fuse and now I am not sure since he is for sure taking advantage of the invasion. I am still reading part 3 so no spoilers but if you have any non-spoiler theories I would love to hear them. And yes I have always gotten self loathing from Zahel even back in Warbreaker. I think it stems from losing someone (maybe the person who made Nightblood?) its been years since I have read it though but yea he like most invested individuals we have met seems to have a lot that he needs to work through.

Kaladin "my boy." Adolin "my boy." You can only choose one! I also loved the Adolin and Kaladin hanging out scene. Adolin is so kind to everyone and he's really shining more and more. SPOILERS Also about the different gemstones and sprens, there was a quick worldbuilding line in Part 2 where it was mentioned that the colors matter because they are like flavors to spren.

Don't make me choose!! Kaladin can be my best friend and Adolin is who I would want to date, I can support both. Also I forget did you like Adolin before this book? Also yes I saw that and I wanted more info dumps from the sibling in that scene but noooo had to go do some damage control with this invasion I guess.

Fun fact! If you reread the very first prologue from Way of Kings, all three Heralds are indicated to be present! I've just never understood the references before now 😂

Cosmere Spoilers (specifically mistborn era 1 and up to the end of RoW): Yea I was thinking about that, I am just use to shards being the only part that can predict their future, or parts of their body like with mistborn. I am wondering how corrupting a truthwatcher ended up giving Renarin this power and I am wondering if future truthwatchers will also have this power or if its unique to him.

@@LiteratureScienceAlliance I think its because of the effect Illumination and Progression (his surges) have on each other when put together with the unexpected catalyst that is his Spren. With Illumination being interpreted as 'to see' instead of 'to show' as it usually is and Progression being interpreted as the progression of time, so into the future. Maybe right maybe wrong but thats what I have been able to come up with.

I think it depends on how much you like Adolin and his character development, I personally really love his POV chapters but I know that's not universal for everyone. But glad you enjoyed that too!!
