Good tutorial. But it is difficult to know what kind of automation are used to express the palm mute, gliss, hammering on off techniques, and so on.

You can use the palm mute by setting the vst to velocity, so each velocity value will address to an specific sample corresponding to that velocity and palm mute (vertical lines you see there). Then you are only able to draw by using a pen, what it would been the automated process. You can not activate palm mute with velocity values but that is only useful if you use a keyboard controller to play.

What settings do I need to have or adjust in order to play chords without getting the harmonics? There has got to be a way to play chords without hearing that squeal every other time I play a chord. I play an Akai MPK mini MK II and with the action it has got to be possible to play without it happening. Please, help!! Thanks for your time.

You already can - tune it all the way down, put in drop a, then put on the pitch pedal and tune as low as you need your bass to be, then finally put in the bass amp (bass preset on the amplifier) and bass presets on Impulse responses in the cabinets.

@spynasaurus5194 Hi, so I haven't used H7S for ages now since making this comment. However, from what I remember, there's a tune dial that sets the tuning of the software. If you tune that knob (it's on the main screen with the guitar), that should tune the sound down. But for the real sound of bass, you need to go to Heavier FX in the FX loop and set the pedal that says pitch pedal (before the amp), then pitch the pitch of the pedal using the dials om said pedal down by 12 semitones (1 octave) so you should pitch it down to be -12. I can't remember what that pedal looks like, but if there's a wet and dry dial, pitch that all the way to wet 100% and dry 0% as that will give you only the sound of the bass octave. I think there's another octave you can set there, so you can set that also to off (dry and wet 0%). Either way, you want to pitch this guitat down by 12 semitones, and you should get an extremely bass heavy bass sound that will sit under the already low-end rich 7 string parts. Alternatively, you could set dry dial to 50% and wet to 50% to get a blend of guitat and bass sounds, but I don't recommend that unless you're programming simple parts that would translate well as bass sounds and full distorted guitar chords don't sound great on a bass.

Hi, you are talking about aftertouch to control vibrato, which CC is this, CC05 or CC18. Second question, which CC is glide automation?

OK, I found the answers by myself: in Ableton aftertouch is called channel pressure, there is no CC. The glide CC is CC05. And finally your user guide has a small typo on page 16, slide FX, 6.6 should be read 6.13 instead. Hope that helps.

What is the automation for the palm mutes

Brow, I control Palm Mute by selecting playing with lower velocity and selecting the velocity check box in the interface. There is a Key switch that triggers palm mute. I dont remember now, but there is. You have to test. My priblem is with slide and hammer on technic.

@@Overxpossed Yes, Friend. There is. I assign the legato control on my automation knob and every time I need, I use it to perform Slides. I think H7S is the best guitar VSTi I KNnow, but the slide efect is not so good. Even tought it still is the best plugin, in my opinion. Thanks, man!

My chords on this sound like crap. It is hissing so loudly that you cannot hear the actual sound of the guitar. If I turn drive down, I just get clean sound in single notes, if I leave it up I get a hissing static noise when playing chords. So that begs to ask the question... How did the person in this video get this sound?

2:58 it says to use aftertouch for vibrato. However I'm having problems with aftertouch in my DAW so is it possible to assign vibrato to modwheel or other midi CC? Also, what are you using here for palm mutes? The video is cropped so I can't see what parameter you're editing. Last but not least, will there be a trial version? A VSTi like this is a big investment so a full trial version with limited time (one week, two weeks or so) would be very helpful and a great way to attract potential customers if you ask me. Thanks in advance! edit: Okay I found the user manual on the website, I will take a look at it.

Does anybody know how to make this guitar play a chord with a minor second proprly, not like two separate notes? I tried toggling the "legato mode" and "Sustain" buttons, but it just won't work with semitones. It always plays them separately

This could be the same as my issue. Fixed by changing from chord detection length to a higher value (apparently when the value is small it thinks you're playing one note and then another, and it makes the first note not sustain. I also changed my buffer size to a lower amount because that seemed to be messing it up, strangely.
