@@celiaalcaraz894 It's has to, they are incredibly flexible and from my understanding this is a physically and mentally grueling sport.

I really like it. I prefer Margarita Mamun, but it’s really a very good montage and song. I like all your work.

Why are rhythmic gymnasts tall and slender, while regular gymnasts tend to be short and stocky? I know there may be some exceptions, but for the most part it seems to be a common rule. Anyone know the answer?
@SummertimeSadnessChannel6 жыл бұрын
+Coryny While both rhythmic and artistic gymnasts are extremely fit and strong, they focus on two different types of training and conditioning. Rhythmic gymnasts tend to be lean and thin because their training centers around flexibility, dance movement, and coordination with elements such as the hoop, ribbon, clubs, etc. Much like ballet dancers, they have to be on the lean (thin) side in order to avoid injuries due to them always being on such high releve. Rhythmic gymnastics clubs are very picky with whom they accept, and will often reject girls that they feel are "too big" because they don't want to deal with injuries (especially ankle and back) or weight gain down the road. They also like to choose girls with longer legs(plus their ballet training helps to lean and lengthen their legs naturally) since it makes for better lines, which is why a lot of them are on the taller side. On the other hand, artistic gymnasts have to have a high muscle ratio (what we often call bulk) in order to do the elements that sport demands. Arcrobatics and tumbling require power and strength, which is why gymnasts often lift weights and focus equally on upper body and lower body strength training. It also helps a little bit to be on the shorter side when tumbling or on bars. Gymnasts don't have a lot of room to move around, so a few inches off in height can really make a difference.

SummertimeSadness you're right! I do rhythmic gymnastics and artistic if you didn't know! I recently move up a level in Artistic gymnastics and already on a nice high level in rhythmic gymnastics!

Coryny Rhyhtmic gymnastics is very strict. You can’t weigh to much or you can not attend Olympic Games..

SummertimeSadness ahhhh makes sense. I do remember looking up someone you show often on one of my favorite video of yours, Heart of Courage. She was Russian and they expected her to be the best. Unfortunately, as she got older, her body developed more than the coach preferred. She was still thin by most standards, just not the Russian rhythmic team.
