All the notations and vocabulary related to rhythms can be a bit overwhelming, but don't feel like you need to learn it all at once. Think of it like a game, that also has expansions. The base game is pretty simple and you can do a lot with it, but eventually you'll be ready for more complexity, like subdivisions or new kinds of time signatures. Tackle these concepts bit by bit to make the more manageable.

Hello, Can the notes of the singer be subdivided and the beat of the drum is still the same? For instance, the drum does one quarter while the rapper, or the singer does two syllables🎵.

Those are accents/articulation. They would fall under technique and expression and aren’t really part of learning about rhythm.

This "wise" guy got it wrong from the beginnning by saying that changing the rhythm of a song makes the song more unrecognizable than changing the notes. Go ahead an change the rhythmm of any fairly popular song, and anybody with an average musical ear will be able to tell what song it is. But go ahead an change the notes of the song, and all you gonna have is a totally different song.

You didn’t find the happy birthday example convincing? Seriously, if I’m playing in a band and any member plays a wrong note, or even a bunch, it’s not a huge problem, it happens. But if people start playing in rests, missing shots, of the drummer of bassist start messing up the tempo/feel/groove, or put the down beat in a different place, the band is going to trainwreck really quickly. Time and rhythm is so important.

Nope. It’s a legitimate musical term from Italian. In English, retard(accent on the second syllable) just means slow or delayed. I believe it used to be an actual medical term but has since been abandoned, probably because there are better and more descriptive terms, and because of the word being co-opted as a slur. In music, it’s fine. The rest of the time, very probably not.
