I know this video is a little old, but thank you for breaking this down for people to see! Me and my gf were planning on buying an old 1995 and modding it to live in it full time. After seeing this video I think we're going to NOT go with a rialta. Seems like the weight is a huge thing for this RV and us modding it would be too much weight added to even have our full time life in there.

I found this very helpful Doing these videos is not easy. Very well done indeed. Better than any I've tried for tech work. Especially that I forgot pots, pans and our folding bbq grill. Also finally decoding the QD, FD, HD etc. nice!

I'll only add for safety that I'm not sure the answer to carrying 8 people can always be yes. if each person carried one pound or less each in gear.. each person would have to be a petite woman or child or basically an average weight of 116 lbs each. But this 116 lbs each person on average, the above assumes the nearly impossible situation where there are no dealer or user added options.. (what I'm not clear on yet is the factory installed options. should we subtract the weight from the 935lb CCC/NCC range available?) I guess they put all those seatbelts in for roughly four adults max to move around between locations inside but never intended to hold 8 adults at any time. At the U.S. average for women of 170lbs and men at 200lbs.. 8 times 185lbs average equals a whopping 1480 lbs. Well above the capacity if I haven't totally misread my sheet. I think (7) 13 yr olds who are fit and not all obese should be ok also with the driver being a petite person as the 8th passenger Thanks again for the work you all do. Hoping I will contribute more than rely on your expert advice someday.

Great info! Is the weight of gas already factored in or do I need to add that as well?

I had that wrong at first myself. no. they assume a full tank. But I am not sure we can ignore factory options added. I don't think we can. it comes off the user available total capacity. And for sure so does dealer and user added options. It's a strangely tight fit in my opinion. I wonder if they miscalculated a bit due to the axels in real world testing?

Do you, by chance, have a weight distribution percentage from front to rear of the Rialta? I ask because although my aftermarket wheels will carry the load I expect to have, they do not carry as much as Rialta wheels. I've lightened my Rialta somewhat, and my QD seats are coming out, as well as TV, VCR, and Lead Acid change to Lithium, but my calculations are based on one assumption. That is, that the rear axel is carrying no more than 65% of the Rialta weight in stock condition, tanks full. How will I find out this actual weight distribution percentage? Have you ever weighed your Rialta wheel by wheel? Thanks!

Why would you fill the fresh water and not empty your black and gray water? fresh water fills the gray and black just saying.

I am not sure he said that. He knows these machines very intimately in general. And of course you are correct. No doubt there. I'll listen again and see.

It is presumed that you don't head down the road with gray or black water, as the dump stations are at the exits to every campground.
