That is a nice little development that demonstrates that social housing need not be monolithic tower blocks, and that ordinary people deserve good housing.

As an architect, I can honestly say I can't recall having ever been as moved by a project as I am by this one. Such sensitivity is rare (not just in architecture but in humanity at large), and is absolutely unheard of in public housing. The loving testimony of these residents is the ultimate prize for the designers, even if they end up getting passed over for the Sterling Prize.

I love the brick patterns...the use of English/Common bond really helps to bridge architectural eras while also giving a sense of solidity and durability

Often, socially people tend to look down on social housing or council housing. Nice to see homes that are also deserving of the residents living in them.

No window sills or copings to throw the rainwater clear. Useless. This place is going to look awful from the water stains very soon.

Don’t get bogged down in practicality. Whats more important, an architects ego or a poor persons house functioning properly?

This what we need more social housing to be sold off in 5 years time at a huge discount never to be occupied by anymore social tenants, brilliant!

Typical "architects" taste. Awful in every possible way. Can't help but think it is also politically correct militancy motivated too. Because the development is absolutely grotesque.
