@Sarah Homfray, I LOVE your videos, I have watched MANY of them MORE than a couple of times just to make sure i get it RIGHT,. I can actually UNDERSTAND YOU, & see what you are demonstrating at a normal pace. Unlike other turtorials that SPEED UP their NON VERBAL 1/10th of a second flash of what is needed. YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! THANK YOU!! 🤗

I watched a video last night about stitching a wisteria flowerbox where the person used ribbon to create it. I loved how the ribbon added texture to an otherwise flat piece. Wanting to know more, I came to your channel and what do you know? A more indepth look at the stitches and important things to know about using ribbon instead of thread. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Love your ribbon work videos. Thanks very much for taking the time to show. Could I ask you what size chenille needle for 4mm and 2mm ribbon please?
@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery3 жыл бұрын
A Chenille 24 is good for these sizes Mo. go up to a 22 for 7mm ribbon and upwards

I enjoy your videos - very informative. If the project has sections that are stitched with floss, should those be completed before stitching with riboon or does it not really matter?
@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery4 жыл бұрын
I would probably stitch the floss parts first yes. Check out my new video on colouring your own ribbon, I do that in that video 👍

Is ribbon embroidery washable? Could it be put on a garment?
@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery5 жыл бұрын
I've never actually tried to wash it Lisa; perhaps do a little bit on a scrap piece of fabric and give it a gentle hand wash with some mild detergent and see what happens? I would check the ribbon is colourfast first by snipping off a small end and pressing it onto a damp paper towel to see if the colour bleeds. I'm thinking as long as the ribbon is colour fast, hand washing would be fine

I watched the video a couple of times before starting, I bought ALL the correct supplies, was SO EXITED 🤗 to FINALLY START........ AND on my 6th LAVENDER STRAIGHT STICH.......The NEEDLE BROKE right at the EYE PART!!! 😲😭 I was careful NOT to pull hard, I used Gentle pushing and pulling, and I even bought both SEW•OLOGY RIBBON EMBROIDERY NEEDLES & SINGER EMBROIDERY NEEDLES. WHERE DID I GO WRONG??!! 😭
@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery Жыл бұрын
Not sure, it takes quite a lot of strain on the needle to break it like that, maybe you just got a duff needle, have you tried the other ones?
