@Mollysartistry I recently saw a different artist do something similar, but she did not put the base in the center, she only did the cup- in your case the ribbon pour. Then she only put the base color around the center prior to stretching. Also, she went less wide with the ribbon pour and got some really beautiful pieces. Just thought I’d share. I love this, very beautiful. 💙

This is beautiful! I am a silver girlie when it comes to being worn near my skin, but when I paint I rarely paint with silver and instead, I reach for my metallic gold. I think because I tend to paint with a lot of blue and cool colors the Gold really sets them off in such a beautiful way. Also, gold stays more gold, and sometimes with silver, it just looks grey unless the light hits it just right. I have started to mix iridescence paints with black to get a pewter color which I like much better than silver. I really do love how this turned out.
@MOLLYSARTISTRY4 күн бұрын
thank you! yes i love silver, but it has to work just right with the colors. i LOVE mixing metallics in with other colors. it makes them so much prettier! I actually mixed in silver with gold recently and it made a gorgeous metallic "sand" color.
@sandralogue56104 күн бұрын
I completely understand what you're saying about the silver. I only recently started paint pouring and my go to metallic has been silver. But it always ends up looking more of a gray. So I've decided my next pour will be with gold instead. But I also love your idea about mixing for the pewter color so I'll be trying that in the future as well.

This turned out beautifully and I like the balance of the negative space. I like both the silver and the gold added into these shades of blue. I feel like the gold is a more pronounced color and flashy. The gold is not subtle at all and is begging to be looked at. I think the silver is more subtle and I have to look for it to see it. Both are nice in their own ways. I would like to see this negative space painting using the lesser amount of paint with the subtle silver and the gorgeous ribbon pour. I think the blues will be more pronounced with the silver. I will be looking for your next video!! Thanks Molly!

Very nice, I prefer less gold though. You may consider doing a pair of canvases side by side at the same time so you know you have to save some of your paint for the second canvas. I really really loved the part that poured off, that has to be so frustrating when that happens. I can’t wait for the next attempt.

Maybe when you pour next time, don't pour so close to the edge of your puddle and you won't lose some of the pretty parts of the ribbon. It did turn out really pretty, though

Since I cannot afford floetrol or glue, most of my paintings are just paint and water. I really like using just water.
@eternalsunshine24854 күн бұрын
I can't afford it either. I also use water and paint. Plus all my tools are either second hand or I just make my own out of stuff I have. You don't need expensive supplies to make beautiful art!!! That's why I like Molly's channel...she doesn't make you feel like you have to spend alot of $ to make beautiful paintings!
@constancehutt65253 күн бұрын
I read somewhere that alcohol works pretty good (in place of floetrol). Check my spelling 😂. It has a different effect, but you may like it. 😉.!!
@mumo94133 күн бұрын
Molly use to use different pouring mediums, I believe she only uses paint and water now! Top tip boil your water first so it's sterilised, I've heard of issues with stagnant water growing bacteria. Many artists use distilled water that doesn't contain contaminants such as limescale. Have a look on her drop down list for quantities. Also, check out Olga Solby & Rinska Douna. They, often work together! "Happy painting"

I guess to get even more negative space you could try to add more of the base colour on top of the design, so it doesn't get lost when you stretch it off the sides
