Wahoo McDaniel was my favorite wrestler when I first tuned in to Mid-Atlantic as a kid. When Greg Valentine broke his leg it was real to me darnit, and still is! lol
@dannypowers49952 жыл бұрын
The match was taped at WRAL TV 5 Raleigh NC on a Tuesday night. It was aired on the following Saturday night. 1977 if my memory is good. I watch it as well and hated Valentine for what he did. It was real to me at 12 years old. But I got to go see the return match in Greensboro and it was a Indian strap match. Wahoo and Valentine were so blooded it looked like a horror movie. Those were great days.

Sometime around 1980 give or take a couple years Wahoo was a heel. Greensboro NC Wahoo is getting out of a taxi and this tough guy comes up running his mouth to Wahoo. The guy is wanting a piece of Wahoo. Big mistake. Wahoo chops the guy across the face breaking the guys nose and doing permanent damage. It cost Wahoo $30,000 legal fees and fines. It was self defense for Wahoo, but the guy told the judge he was only picking with Wahoo . Wahoo played Namath's rookie year, and he complained about Namath's salary because he was a veteran, and he was the star or one of the main stars.
