Growing up was a huge fan of The 4 Horsemen! About 12 years ago I volunteered with a prison ministry a few times and Tully was one of the main speakers in the prisons. Great man! Truly cares about people. God bless Tully! Definitely one of the greats! Definitely deserves to be in HOF!

Tully owned so many belts for so long as a single... just don't know how he is not a hall of famer on his own. Same goes with Arn. Arn was the WORLD TV champ for a LONG time, and he was always on TV, always holding on to the belt. He was another great singles wrestler.

absolutely agreed And arn was a great talker piper and Jake were only better They made me hate them so they did there job well. But like Ric said whether you like it or don't learn to love it because it's the best thing going today. And I learned to love all of them. They were so good, hell they still are good

Tully Blanchard had the best gimmick in JCP/Mid-Atlantic/NWA by just being himself, an "arrogant prick" like Ric said. Brash and cocky, wearing the $700 dollar Ostrich's, the fine cloths, and flashing the bling-bling, Tully was Horsemen before he joined the Horsemen. Then you add Baby Doll, the NWA World TV Title, the $10,000 dollars on the line in 20 minutes, the NWA US Heavyweight Title, the feuds with Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A. over those belts and the EPIC matches they had, 1984 & 1985 were Hall of Fame years for Tully Blanchard! Tully Blanchard is my favorite wrestler of all-time, so now I'm going to watch Tully tear off Flair's cloths during an interview with Wahoo, and then watch Tully piledrive Flair into the canvas with the help of Wahoo! Classic stuff!!

I always loved watching Mongo working as a Horsemen member and loved how he bumped! He might not have been the best in terms of wrestling skills, but you could always tell he was having so much fun which made his matches even better. He always made me laughed in a good way. He is such a nice guy outside of the ring, too!

What needs to be done is a separate Hall of Fame built and run by somebody that is not WWE for all wrestling corporation something ain't got politics in it and WWE only a selection of few to put in that Hall of Fame which sucks you can't get no better than the guys that made the four horsemen and they all should be in the Hall of Fame separately for their own acolytes and i tell you right now you can't get no better than the nature boy Ric flair that man is my hero

Tully may not have been a big man, but he was strong enough to Slingshot the likes of Ray Traylor, and some of the other big men working at JCP back then; I still watch his promo's like "What've you got another check to cancel?" The Title Match where Baby Doll turned on Dusty for Ric Flair - when Tully hit the ring, the place erupted. You don't see Heat like that anymore....

Tully and Ric started as rivals, they were, for the most part, feuding with each other verbally except that angle with Wahoo McDaniel and that awkward heel turn that even Wahoo admitted he didn't care for. The whole point was that Tully wanted to be where Ric was, it was about topping each other, who had the best clothes, the best girls, the best jewelry etc. Ric was the established kingpin and Tully was the challenger to the throne. But what they did agree on and was the driving force of forming the Four Horsemen was their hatred of Dusty Rhodes along with Ole and Arn and J.J. Dillon. Dillon was feuding with Flair too with Buddy Landel, Flair and Ole had a bitter feud for years because in reality they despised each other. Arn was against Ole in Georgia. So these four guys decided to put all this baggage behind them to take out the biggest babyfaces in JCP. Dusty, Magnum, Rock N Roll, Sam Houston, Road Warriors, Nikita, etc.

squash matches are essential. else, every night is like a main event and there is nothing to build up to because you have already seen the same guys fight each other 100 times. its one of the reasons i quit watching wrestling. the whole concept of building up to a main event was tossed out the window. if you keep going at 200 miles an hour then eventually 200 miles an hour doesn't feel exceptional. there is a simple concept they understood in the old days....over exposure.

Art: Tully and Gino both in San Antonio for Joe Blanchard's Southwestern Championship Wrestling were definitely Horseman level before it even existed! You can see the potential for it all if you watch the precious few clips of this existent magic from back then of a highly influential Tag Team. And Tully Blanchard (as well as Chris Adams) was perhaps the only one who could turn Gino Hernandez Face. Imagine this Crew in say JCP: Adams. Blanchard. Hernandez. Piper. Throw them against Flair and The Andersons and either Slater or Steamboat. That's a vendetta waiting to print money!🤔😮🎤💰🐴💎👔👞👞🤼‍♂️B.W.

Gino as a Horseman and he eventually starts to show interest in Flair's world title, which causes him to be kicked out and we have Gino vs. Flair World Title match at Starrcade. Gino goes over and he draws big money and he keeps the strap for like three months and drops it back to Flair.

@30907bng: Thank You way overdue for the compliment. Have to take "The X Factor" into consideration though. "Big Dust" himself. Eventually as History proved he would strive to overshadow any other hot action or he'd find a way into The Angle. The upside of course is Magnum T.A. being Booked into a true potential Superfeud to Wrestle a number of individuals he'd never ahem faced before. Magnum vs. Piper, Adams, or Steamboat for instance. Very tempting to speculate!🤔🎤🐴💎👔👞👞🤼‍♂️B.W.

According to Jim Cornett who was there and who very easily could know, Jim Herd refused to hire Tully back because of the failed drug test in the WWF!! It was probably more personal than that. I don’t remember the entire story, but the excuse given by Herd was the failed drug test. Herd also used Tully‘s drug test against Arn, pay him $100,000 a year less. If memory serves he cut his yearly salary from $250K to $150k!! Herd said that he was hiring the two as a tag team, without hiring Tully he was able to screw Arn. That may have also been one of the reasons Herd didn’t take Tully back. Instead of $500,000 a year guaranteed he only had to pay Arn $150,000!! The last part is speculation but it’s very plausible. From what I can gather about Jim Herd is not at all surprising!! I may be off a little bit here or there but that is overall the story Cornette has told several times on his podcast. I’m sure it will be an easy find here on KZbin if you want to hear the full story & details.
