This track introduced me to Ricardo Villalobos in 2002. Introduced me to minimal/microhouse/etc and Perlon too as a college freshman in Marietta, OH that fall. I just remember playing all of these niche minimal techno 12"s to my raver friends in my dorm and they would be flipping out. LOL. Good times.

+Nasty Narc I was there but didn't even realise that he played this. Probably left too early :(

yeah it was more towards the end of his set :)

+Nasty Narc Can you tell me any of the other tunes Zip played? He plays them almost every set (the ones I've heard recently) but I can never find them out. It's some of the grooviest stuff of any DJ, but I don't know many of the names! Sonja Moonear also plays a lot of similar tracks. Their selection is insane.

+MrBoxingVideos hmm that's a very difficult question. yes zip has a wicked selection of tracks, he often plays obscure house tracks from the mid-90s and early 2000's, breakbeat and minimal influenced progressive house along with underground tracks from nowadays and of course perlon and affiliated stuff from him and his peers.his excellent mixing skills and the fact that he plays kinda undiscovered or forgotten music makes it kinda hard to get any ID at all :D yes you're right about sonja, but also ricardo, thomas melchior, fumiya t., binh, margaret dygas, baby ford, the arpiar guys, barac or francesco del garda are really worth a listen, maybe you'll find the same tracks in their sets or at least some similar ones :)

last saturday was the first time i've been listening live to zip, so i can't really tell you if he plays the same tracks over and over again - are you sure about that? can't really imagine that he doesn't look for diversity from set to set, but i guess some bombs could be found again from time to time. i was able to find these tracks, along with panpot spliff: House Ground Movement pres. Deeman - the World Cab Drivers - Playroom for further searching i recommend you to check the label catalogues of Perlon, Trelik, Pal SL, Rawax, Cabinet, Minibar, Classic and releases from ricardo, thomas melchior, baby ford, pantytec and of course thomas himself :) oh and go to join the Perlon Nation group on fb, as it is full of track ids
