Some people say Edgeshot saving Bakugo is just plot convenience..But I disagree. The adults made literal kids fight in a war. They should take responsibility even at the cost of their lives. Edgeshot did his duty. He is amazing. Not all can do that..despite it being something they should do.

What a way to clutch the one thing that could somehow support your argument...in a discussion people weren't having. Who doubts that the teachers or pros would give their lives? Who thinks they enjoy putting the kids in this position? Literally no one argued that ever. What people were complaining about was the pure bullshit writing only to get a cliffhanger on a fake-out death FOR THE SECOND TIME. And the way it's fixed is a nonsensical power coming out of nowhere, from a character that had previously been in like 3 panels of that fight and had achieved nothing. And yes, people complained about the writing, correctly so, because it was very clear Hori wasn't really following a script he made beforehand. Dude was taking month-long breaks and every chapter ended in some contrived cliffhanger or shifted perspective from the actual fights happening for EONS. He made shit up on the spot, couldn't follow it up/close it, then took a break or changed the perspective to another fight to give it the same treatment. And no, Hori being sick doesn't change that the writing was extremely subpar, plot threads were opened and immediately disregarded or closed and the entire story felt very stop-and-go, even if were to re-read it now. Dude could've rested his shoulder and then come back a month later to follow things up where he left off. Could've not tried to shoehorn in some subplot that was never properly established. Could've not attempted to last-minute make the viewer feel empathy for characters that were fucking empty. If you have 2 endbosses and one wants world domination, the other wants its destruction and you have to make up the reason in the last 10% of the story, you fucked up the writing along the way.

I do agree w the sentiment of sparing favorite characters and plot armor. Its lessens the impact of the stakes. Ying and yang. Loss and sacrifice makes life worth living and things worth fighting for. Plus stories are too often streamlined and rushed instead of fleshing out the actual passage of time aspect of life and living in remorse and wallow and depressive states after major loss, or dealing with true adversity. Running characters thru a ringer can be a cliche too but its fulfilling and an accurate representation of success in life....often the people that come from the worst situations can make the bigfest changes and impact.

Katuski is the true embodiment/symbol of change and redemption, his whole character development would feel useless if he died before even being able to do anything of what he set out to do. I DO think tho that Horikoshi should have not played around with it at all tho as he set up expectation he could have not meet without ruining his own message...but I assume he really wanted Edgeshot to play a role and to further prove his point of the future being with the "next generation". So I personally still like this, but I get when some people get annoyed, coz I also had 2 heartattacks now due to Horikoshi keeping to try for Bakugou´s life...but it is VERY Bakugou to literally beat death twice. As for the loss part I do agree, tho for me it always hits harder when people lose who they are rather when they lose their life. In a way we could say the worst that cna happen to Enji Todoroki is to survive this... and I think he d agree. For me death is death, it is sad but after 200+ anime shows it rarely really hits, what still hits for me is despair, inability to move on,guilt. Which is why Todoroki family will probably stay my favorite storyline of the show, coz at minimum Dabi and Enji are true tragedies..and in a way also Shouto (who will probably need a lifetime of therapy after this just to have a chance to live a normal life). The amount of loss in the Todoroki family even wih everyone being alive rn, is the loss I am talking about. The loss to ever lead a normal life, is always worse to me than death itself.

The difference so far that I am seeing is that Edge shot is giving up his life for Bakugo, as he is the future. So there is a sacrifice. To me death has to mean a lot more than just emotional trauma. especially when dealing with heroes.

I have the exact same feeling that Ron has on bringing Bakugo back. No idea how it'll turn out but I wish if they ARE going to revive him, that they did it maybe after the fight or a little later. Immediately introducing a way to revive him in the episode right after his 'death' feels a tiny bit cheapy even though it's probably the only way to bring him back since his heart stopped so recently so it makes it 'realistic' that he could still be brought back, like IRL. Even though it was devastating, I actually thought killing off Bakugo was a perfect plot point to showcase just how terrible the situation is and how dark it was. I actually thought about how he had so much potential, goals, ,etc and how it was ripped from him, similar to how some die in real life, so , I was ready to give props to MHA for actually killing off such an important character, since many are attached to him like they would be to a friend and that he was so closely intertwined with the main character. Unless this 'resuscitation' is just false hope and he actually stays dead, but it seems unlikely now that they focused so much time and emphasis on it.

It was literally explained the episode before this one that the adults would rather die than have the children die. It's like people forgot that this an adult war who just happens to have a couple children with strong abilities. Having them die will affect the next generation in a negative way, it would be terrible for the story.

So rememeber how I was saying it was going to get more ridiculous. Yeah, this is what I was referring to. Edgeshot is can apparently go inside of a human body and recreate a heart and lungs, because he says he is "familiar with the human body". And he can do CPR from the inside. You would have to be a cardiovascular and respiratory doctor with 1000s of hours of experience to even attempt to do this. Even with that the success rate would be extremely low. This is what I was saying when I mentioned that this show suffers from the Bleach/Fairy Tail problem. They have so many characters but they are afraid to have them die, suffer consequences, and/or have any ramifications for their actions. Ron has the right idea. Even though I like Bakugo a lot, his permanent death would speak volumes, and have a lot more significance to the story. Faking his death a THIRD time (You forgot one) is just nonsense at this point. lol. It would have been much less ridiculous (Still bad) if it WAS Eri somehow. But Edgeshot... To me it seems like Horikoshi is just afraid to take those story risks. It is not like Naruto, FMA, or AOT where death and consequence are cemented. He always has a way out in his back pocket which cheapens the impact of the story. Still a great show overall, but is missing that thing that would make a master class in anime. P.S Glad Toya is back because that fight seemed too easy for Shoto. Again, there needs to be more of a struggle/challenge for him IMO. Toya is one of the to 3 villains in Japan, he couldn't go out with such a lackluster performance.
