I think this is my favourite clip of Tony Rice. I love the way he is talking about strings and then casually launches into this, starts playing the opening chords and groove which is complex and nuanced, stays on this to set the groove, Wyatt takes over the rhythm and Tony stayed on one single note, maybe checking the rhythm is right and then goes off. Mesmerising. stuff....

Priceless footage of Tony in his prime....about the strings....I think he said "DaVinci-medium guage. Didn't find any on internet sites, so maybe not available any more.

The brand is Thomas Vinci--no "da". One can obtain them in the TR-favored 13-57 medium gauge on Amazon these days.

Jerry Garcia played Vincis also

Vinci - Medium gauge - 13 - 57. Vinci strings are no longer available. The Martin Tony Rice signature series is what the Maestro uses now I believe.
